Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Mara's is close, but it has killed my spirits. It was leaking oil out the lower timing belt tensioner bolt pretty bad. I fixed some wiring to a coolant temp sensor. I fixed a few problems, but it has some other small problems like the radiator leaking, oil return leaking, axles seal leaking, and I might have to pull the tranny to work on the clutch engagement. I was trying to get it done for this weekend, but I think I am done trying to rush.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
I went. I still can't get the damn stutterbox to work correctly. I am going to have to work on that some more.
First run was limited to 6k because of the stutter box, ran a 12.5@113
Second and third run I totally bogged the launch after turning the stutterbox off.
Fourth run I had the CAS plug pop off shifting into 3rd, 16.1@50
Fifth run and what I thought was going to be my last, 1.89 60' and a 11.88@121
Last run of the day after brackets 1.71 60', 11.53@123.
I am pretty happy with that. I would have been alright with a new personal best and was aiming for an 11.5 the way it was. I expected the MPH to be higher though. The tune is pretty rough still. I was running quite rich and not much timing, just to keep things safe. The tranny took a fair amount of damage from my crankwalked engine that was in before this, shifting was mediocre at best.
I will have a video up in a few days.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Congrats on the new personal best JET. 11.53 is nothing to be ashamed of. Are you certified to run lower than 11.50 (cage)? I can't wait to run my 11 second runs next year but i'll take the 12.05 that i got. How much boost were you throwing at it?
Did you hook up with any other dsmstyle guys down there? I've been curious all weekend to know how things went.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Thanks guys!
I don't have a cage installed yet, it is sitting in the garage. There was only one other DSM down there, a black spyder running 16's. There were a ton of fast cars down there.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
I was running pump gas (111 oct.) at was creeping to 28 psi, but most of it was 26 psi. I don't think the gas was really 111 though.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
That's pretty good at 26# of boost. I'd settle for 11.50's all day. I'd rather do that time than to runs 10's or something and have the car up on jackstands most of the time.
That sucks that only 1 other DSM was there. That's usually how it goes around here too. Two weeks prior, 8 people you know say they are going and then the day of the race, only 1 or so shows up.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Thats DSM's for ya though. 1 minute its running perfect, the next minute something is leaking or blown. Happened to me a few times this year. It sucks but life goes on.
Nice times Jet. Congrats!

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Good runs Jets, congrats on the solid 11 second pass. Then the 11.5 later is just that much cooler!

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Hopefully once I get back and get the Valve Cover money out in the mail. Hopefully by the time I get it power and gas will be back up, and I'll head out to moroso again I'm hoping to better my pump gas time.
But I am starting to get the Race Gas itch. I think once this tank is Empty I'm going to buy a few gallons and start tuning, and then head to the track once I get a decent tune going. (will be on 116oct, hopefully C-16 if I can find it)

Nice runs Jet. I was going to ask for your help with the stutterbox and NLTS features on the AEM, now I think I'll pass.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Yeah, I don't get it. Mine worked fine with the 2.0 and older version, now with the new version it doesn't work. I haven't looked at it at all though except for the settings in the AEM.

Re: Cedar Falls Oct. 29th
Here's a few pictures my roommate took last Saturday. 13.614@101.44 & 2.0 60' was the best my buddy ran and my roomate's best was a 14.7@102 & 2.6 60' (major traction issues and the first time he'd even run on the dragstrip).
