If you are trying to impress the other ricers, then goto a SC day. If you aren't trying to impress anyone and just want to run your best time, goto a normal day when there are some RWD cars putting down some rubber and they prep the track.
Impressing others, I honestly don't care about. Like I said, it's cheaper, I'm not catching crap from muscle guys for my "jap crap" and because it's not as well prepped, I shouldn't break..as much.

I didn't get any crap for running 13's with my Talon a few years back on a fun day. Not sure what you're worried about Swifty. There was a stock truck there running 17s, an Insight, nobody seemed to mind.
On the fun day I went to, there were some mean looking and sounding cars there, but 90% were just that, loud and mean looking. They were running 12+ times all day (but consistently!). I was actually a little intimidated when I first got there and saw the other cars there, because here I was with my A/C running, and my car isn't exactly quiet, it's got exhaust and some lope at idle. But compared to those things, you woulda thought my car was electric, ha. Then when it came to running on the track, my quiet little dsm was running some of the faster times there.
So in the end, yeah who cares what you run, it's all about fun. And no matter what day you go, I'm sure you'll have fun, and there will be faster and slower cars there.

Agreed! I remember one time we went just to BBQ and be there just for good times and fun.
Spinning all the way through first really isn't all its cracked up to be, fun day would probably yeild you better times. I just wonder if its worth the extra $29
