Why wouldnt i go with a R1 or R6? They are pretty cheap. there was an R6 in easton for 3200. and a guy at my work is selling his Honda CBR 929 RR for $5k

Even the newer 600's are pretty serious machines. You want something that is surefooted and not twitchy, just in case you make a stupid move, it won't bite you in the ass.

None of those 3 bikes are starter-bikes. Start on something more docile and easier to handle. I also hightly suggest you attend a motorcycle safety course, you will learn a lot.
