Yes. More security. If you have a short 10" long intake with a 5" opening (swifty), you have more surface area. If you have a 25" long pipe with no supports on it thats 3" or 3.5" diameter, there's less surface area on the turbo inlet to hang on.

Let's look at some intakes by some of the other major manufacturers out there:

Buschur:


ETS:


AFI:


AGP:


Greddy:


HKS:




All have beads. Get any oil in there (blown turbo or a stock-style PCV system) and the thing will slip off pretty easily w/o beads...especially if you account for installing and then running for 20k miles w/o touching it (tough for some people I know!), the vibrations alone would be enough reason for me. IDK why there is even a question about not putting them on, it seems silly not to, Rolling a bead is cheap/easy, especially on 3.5" pipe w/o big angles on the end.
