The stock X hanger does have fuel pickup issues during left-hand sweepers at a road course. I don't think it's quite as bad as what I'm currently seeing with the Full Blown hanger, but it's enough that most road course guys end up with surge tanks.

Just got off the phone with LJ. They're swamped preparing cars for this weekend, of course. He said they have everything that they'd need to fab a sump/surge tank setup for me. Said they could design something next week.

I think I'll pick up the Evo today and bring it back to FB on Monday. I'll gut the trunk, pull the wing, change the oil, and install some small parts that have been piling up at home (crank vents, lug nuts, hood vents).

The car is drivable so I will take it up to Brainerd (for spectating) on Sunday if it is behaving well.

Should be a fun weekend! Valleyfair on Saturday, BIR on Sunday, get drunk Sunday night and crash in a Baxter hotel. lol.

Got most of the work in the last post done today. Rexpeed shipped the front hood vents without screws and I'm nervous that water could get into the air filter at the car wash or when it rains. I've seen water-proof covers that you can put over conical filters but I'm not sure how much they screw up flow. In the meantime, I've put off installing those. The center one does look better.

I'm heading up to Brainerd on Sunday. Hope I can get some good pics and footage while I'm there!

The crank vents had a huge effect on the car. I also discovered that the in/out ports were reversed on one of the cans. Before the vent install the car had a noticeable 'hit' when it came into boost a little after 4k. That's gone now...the car is creepy smooth. So smooth that I was looking for boost leaks under the hood. I assume it's fine but I've started getting use to the car's power level.

Exactly, it seems more calm now. The BOV is still doing its thing. I'm going to get a boost gauge on this car as soon as it is home on a regular basis. It's heading back to Full Blown on Monday.

The amount of bullshit I'm dealing with in getting an intake made is getting out of hand. CBRD and ETS batted me back and forth on it so I sent a PM to Primo. Just now ETS emailed and said they'd see if they could get it on the schedule.

Yea I think that ETS is really busy now, but they said it would only take them 3 weeks when I asked and I told them to go ahead and do it for me.

If ETS can't give me a firm answer in the next day or so then I'm going to run Dave's 3" AMS intake over to Primo and have them copy it in 3.5".

I was at DB yesterday and Danny said it wouldn't be a problem for them to modify my AMS intake to be 3.5" at the MAF housing.

So basically I told danny if more parts start showing up, aka my pistons (rods and a few other things are there) and shortblock, more importantly FP black that I will just have them fab something quick.

I for sure don't want an intake holding my build up.

LJ says that I should have the Evo back early next week. I hope they come up with a setup that solves the fueling equation.

I'll probably end up having Primo do mine since ETS has been sitting on the request for a 3.5" MAF on their intakes for a while (as mentioned in that DG Motors thread). I like the idea of switching to an AFE dry-flow filter anyway...not a fan of the K&N.

Sounds like Full Blown is on schedule. Maybe they'll wrap it up tomorrow.

liquid badass! Are they going to put it on the dyno to double-check the tune, or are you gonna just rip it as-is? Might be worth a trip back to shane just to make sure all is nice and safe (or put the big injectors back in).....sorry, bad ideas, I'm good at them.... :P

Was planning to get some gauges installed this weekend. Need to get either my intake or Dave's over to Primo so they can get to work.

Call me a cynic but I'm just going to take one step at a time. First thing is to see what Full Blown did and make sure that it works, is E85-safe, etc.

I think it is just a matter of not letting the MAF read 5.0V and then Shane can tune around it however. Even if it necks down it shouldn't matter too much, the problem here is the fact the MAF is maxed. With a bigger pipe, I believe that the MAF sees less air since there is more room around it to flow and therefore it reads a different voltage.

You could probably even cut the AMS part way and transition to a 3.5" intake where you put the MAF and filter.

I am probably going to sell my AMS one and I could probably pay for most of the fab work for DB.

I'm still in favor of this though, shouldn't be too big of a deal to have one made up, but it would def be nice for there to just be a 3.5" intake on the market.
