Re: Inputs on Headers!

I personally say go with any variation of the 16G instead of a 50-trim. A lot of people will disagree with me, but its my personal opinion. Its easier to setup and tune, quicker spool, and properly setup and tuned will be faster than a lot of the 50-trim cars around. There is a lot more to making a car fast than slapping a huge turbo on it, you need all the proper equipment surrounding the turbo too. I prefer a more well-rounded car, possibly milder setup, for a street car than a lot of people do; but I also value overall performance (not just straight line speed), reliability, and durability fairly highly.

Inputs on manifold

So many 16G options, and prices are so wide ranged. Some of the HP ratings are kinda different even though their the same turbo. FP, SBR, BHP...

My budget is $600-700 for a turbo!

Small 16g
Big 16g
Evo III Big 16g
18g-5h (any experience?)
GT 16G Turbo
Is there such thing as just a 16G turbo or is that just the same as a small 16G?

I was thinking of going with the GT 16G from www.DSMparts.com for $540

Desc: Big 16G GT model has a smaller turbine scroll for quicker spool up. This turbo comes complete with the additions of a full port job and 34 mm waste gate port and flapper disc.

Specs: Compressor Wheel = Big 16G // Inducer Diameter 1.892" // Exducer Diameter 2.680" // CFM 550 Turbine wheel = TD05H // Inducer Diameter 2.200" // Exducer Diameter 1.930" // Turbine Housing 7cm2 // HP 400 .

TECH TIP: This turbo is not MHI, it is manufactured by BBL group. (does mean that I have to do something else to it?)

So should I also take into consideration of the Inducer and Exducer sizes?
