Think about this. Go try and start a different manual transmission car without pushing in the clutch (assuming they still use their neutral safety switch) and see what happens. It will do the exact shit you're talking about. Have you thought about disconnecting the neutral safety switch? It sounds like your car thinks your clutch is never pushed in ^^ It's a simple conecept. Unplug and be happy
At least that's how it works on a 1g.. I'm not familiar with 2g's.
