Good God

WELL, After selling my 1g, and putting up with a lame Prelude, and a dead-end job. I changed both and I am getting back in to the DSM scene. I'm getting an amazing deal from my buddy in Indiana, and will be picking it up Mid-Late May. 2g shell, FMIC, Tein-S springs/Tokico struts, polished/balanced crank, and NEW in box everything for the motor. It's got everything I need to build it and drop her in, BUT, after talking to who is going to build it for me (I'd do it myself, but college and 40 hrs a week don't like hobbies), I'll be selling the 7-bolt bottom end stuff and swapping to a 6-bolt. It does pain me to sell all new stuff, but hell, might as well do it right the first time.

If you guys have some toys you're looking to sell, PM me, maybe I could take them off your hands! (Cams, turbo, exhaust etc...)

Just shoutin' out, to say hey to everyone again. Hopefully I'll be able to make it out to lots of the meets this year.

-Jason

Do you know what year the block is? 97+ blocks are fine. EVO's are 7 bolts, and you don't see them swapping to 6 bolts...

I believe it's a 95. So from what you were saying. It's gotta go. Either way, at this point, I'm not looking to make insane power at this point. Like 300 would be nice by the end of the season. Then over the winter, buy another engine and make a bigger build. *sigh* I miss boost

That's what I was thinking. My main goal is to be as cost-effective as possible without taking any shortcuts. I just don't wanna have to do a complete overhaul 10k down the road lol.

Re: Good God

What up and welcome. You could try the 7-bolt for just making the 300hp mark. Don't use a super heavy clutch, and defeat the clutch switch for start up - a must for break-in anyway.

BTW, Swifty and you have the same avatar...

Actually, i think swifty's turbo is boooostin isnt it? never mind... its just bigger lol but i would for sure disconnect the clutch safety switch.. makes it easier for start up anyway not having to use the clutch.. just dont start it in gear

Hahah yeah, I grabbed this avatar from swifty back when it was dsmstyle. I used to work with him at saturn and convinced me the way of the DSM was the way to live. haha

yeah, clutch switch will be gone, I'll be working with TKRperformance on the build and installation of the motor, and from what we're talking about is a 6-bolt bottom end, 7-bolt head. I just wanna get her runnin', no serious mods this year, but come winter it'll be a surgery time.

It comes with a brand new SBR clutch. I think it's the equivalent to the ACT 2600...but instead of the pucked disc, its the street disc. So that should do me fine I think.

Re: Good God

If you only want 300 hp, just run a stock 6 bolt. I did a 6 bolt shortblock with a 7 bolt head, it worked good.

That's why 7-bolt DSM cranks swap right into Evo engines.
