What would you pay for a JDM 4g63

Yea, they just come from Galant VR4s over there. They are usually beat to fuck from being in rally car or road race cars, or just from the owner knowing that they are only going to have the car for 30,000 miles before they junk it. They always claim 30-40k miles, even though one of Dave's 30K JDM 2JZs was marked as having a 60,000 or whatever timing belt change done on it. So you get some beat motor thats been sitting in a junkyard for 10 years. One of our customer got one of the more rare motors with a 16G and 500cc injectors from the Galant VR4 RS that we swapped into his 1G, and it had rod knock on startup.

That's what I've always thought. That's why the japanese junk yards were all of a sudden full of SR20DET's, and they all got shipped over here. Then all these guys with 240's snatched 'em up and put them in thier USDM Silvia's. JDM fo shizzle. Boy am I glad I'm not one of those guys.

I thought I heard somewhere that the cars bodies are pretty much junk and the cars are pretty crappy over 30-40K. I have also heard about the tax thing also.

A buddy of mine just installed a JDM Toyota 7MGE into his '87 Supra and has been running give'er'take 3 weeks without any issues. It also came with a 3/3000 warranty I believe.

I wouldn't buy one since 4G63's are so readily available over here.
