On the bent valves question. I have had several heads in the shop with bent valves we have fixed with stockers. It is a cheap way to go, new guides are cheap if you need them (under $10 each) If you want to go larger with 1MM over valves, we just got a head done with them, machining cost for just the valves run $220. The valves used were REV's (excellent valves) which run just a hair under $20 per valve. They are undercut swirl-polished SS, not nitrided for a reason, better material that doesn't require it.
