Does anyone know of any local/twin cities exhaust shops that are capable of doing 3" mandrel bends? Thanks

Heartthrob exhaust. Might cost you $1000 and take 8 weeks though. Otherwise just buy an exhaust like everyone else, custom usually means more $$$.

The only reason I am concidering custom exhaust is that there are no exhausts out there that I actually like that are relativly inexpensive. The problem with the cheapest exhausts is that there are some fitment and shipping issues (RNR and AHP). I was also thinking about getting the Magnaflow muffler with the dual tips to keep that sleeper look but, from what ive seen, AHP is the only place that sells only the piping for a cat-back. Well, the good thing is that I have a few more months to think about this. Anyone have some more advice for me?

Buy some 3" mandrel bends. Take them to QPR with your choice of muffer, flex section and flanges. Have Mike weld it together for you.

That would work.
We have a pretty decent supplier for SS now other than Heart Throb so we could probably get some good deals on the piping for you as well. If your into the v-bands etc, we can get that stuff also.

I know AHP has made some kits with that dual-tip Magnaflow muffler if you are interested. If you do go through AHP, I recomend you just drive out there and have him install it. The idea involving QPR is also a good one, Mike deffinately does some clean work.

when you're talking about nuts.... usually two is better....
mufflers... it's all in your own opinion.... some cars look nice some look shitty....
and i'm not really sure about any performance gains vs. a straight pipe...

Look at his car in his avtar. I am sure he did it more for the looks than the performance.

Ryan at RnR can put on any muffler you want if you just call him up and request that to be done. You will prolly have to give him the part number of the muffler you want, then he'll just order it and put it on instead of the regular magnaflow he usually puts on there. AHP, ya I am not able to drive up there, so I ordered his exhaust shipped for my 2g. Took about 7 months until i finally got it. in 5 months i had received the wrong exhaust, then had to have it shipped back. Then 2 months later I got the correct one. I would stay away from him, but if you can just drive to his place and he works quicker, then i guess go for it.

I really dont want to wait any longer than, at most 2 months. Anything longer than that is NOT acceptable. It seems like both RnR and AHP both have problems getting things out in a reasonable time frame. I am in no way bashing either company, but they dont seem to have a very good reputation when it comes to customer service. I agree that driving to the shop and having them put the exhaust on right then and there is probably the best thing to do.

im pretty dang sure Ryan can make you an exhaust within 2 months. You're prolly looking at more like 1 month from the day you put in the order until the day its at your doorstep. Just call and talk to him.

I got my 3'' EXH from RnR, and I love it! I did not go with SS. I did spray the system with hi-temp ENG paint. (I don't drive the car in the salt and snow) :jammin:

How much you looking to spend? I got my exhaust from elite and it only took a day or two to get it. It might be worth the little extra money to be sure you get it and get it quicker.

Its not really an issue of price, its an issue of looks and fitment. I want a stock looking exhaust that gives me the most ground clearance. I know all aftermarket exhausts go under the axle and reduce ground clearance but some are worse than others.

I would also recommend using QPR. Not only for on-the-spot service and the ability to pick and choose your parts, but the fact that the owners run this site and are easy to contact. Customer service is just as important after the sale as it is prior to purchase.

Just so people do know, there is a differance in what you get for piping. Don't belive me order a bend up from Jegs and then have us get the same bend in. Put a magnet up to each and if you know metal like Mike has "learned" me then you will know what I am talking about.
