My new car....
Just realised i havent made a post about my new car. Today it got detailed (part of the purchase negotiations), so i took a couple pics.
Its a 2009 Lancer GTS these these options:
- Rockford Fosgate 650watt system
- Sunroof
- FAST key (keyless ignition)
- CVT transmission with Paddle Shifting
- 2.4L MIVEC engine
- Bluetooth
Overall, its no Evo, but it is really a fun car to drive with the features it has. The Evo will come eventually, just not in the cards for this purchase. I got it for $15,100 with a full detail and a full tank of gas and it also came with a full set of winter tires on black steel rims. The price alone was $3800 below KBB pricing, and 100 bucks below trade in value. Which is nice to know im starting out ahead.
Here are some pics i took after getting it home today from the detail.

Good stuff Tom, congratulations on the purchase! Sounds like you got a hell of a deal on it too.

Looks pretty good. However, you go by NADA if you want accurate pricing.

Re: My new car....
Is it a regular auto or a CVT? Looks good man! I'm a huge fan of lancers, great little econobox! The little extras like bluetooth, fastkey, and stereo really will make it an easy car to pack the miles on!

Re: My new car....
Nice looking car. My buddy just bought a black 2009 with the CVT tranny. He went from driving manual trannies to this and he absolutely loves it.
BTW, how can shift up and down with the paddle shifters on a CVT transmission? Isn't that like having a screendoor on a submarine?

Looks nice Tom!
Scheides, yup cvt. They program "gears" into the cvt's computer so it mimics gear changes. I can't imagine its faster though, I thought one of the big deals with cvt's was that they stay in the engines peak power rpm's throughout exceleration.

I dont know if its necesarily staying with the peak power rpms, but its a lot smoother where you dont feel the hard shifts of a conventional automatic. With the paddles you just have more control to keep up in the higher rpms.
And on the NADA thing here is their prices.
Rough trade in | Avg Trade in | Clean Trade in | Clean Retail
$14,000 | $15,150 | $16,075 | $19,025
