So who's running what this year for rubber on the wheels?

Where did you buy your last set and why?

Where are you buying your next set?

What's your first thing in deciding a place to pick up tires?

I run Potenza RE750's on the VR4 and the Miata, the Colt got some POS Sumitomo summer tires which are actually not too bad at all.
I get all my stuff from Tire Rack because both discount tire's in my area are staffed by pricks. I have my tires installed by Sam's club. I find I have to watch them and check their work depending on whos working, but I would do that anyway because I dont trust tire techs anywhere.

On my old gsx the summer tires I had for 1 season before I sold it were Falken Azenis ST-115 and they hooked nicely and cost was about 100 a tire for 225/45/17.

My M3 came with new Michelin Pilot Sports that go for about 180/tire new. Crazy! Im glad I got it with these, because I doubt Ill be putting them on again because they are too expensive. They are really nice tires though!

Pilot Sport PS2's on the Evo too and they are awesome. I won't be getting another set because they are too $$$ for my blodo.

Last time I bought tires I priced them off of Tirerack and local installation versus local purchase and installation and found I'd only be saving a few dollars by ordering off of the internet. I did do a fair amount of price shopping though and ended up driving 10 miles to a tire shop in a different town. These were Firestone Destination A/Ts for my old '99 Dakota. My Grand Prix is just about due for tires so I'll be doing the same price shopping when I buy for it.

Bridgestone Potenza SO-2 tires, the rears last me about 15k miles and cost $174/ea. but they are great tires and stick amazingly well. I on my 2nd set right now with the 3rd being due before summer's end.

The Potenza RE750 that CVD is running is also a great all-around summer performance tire. It has great handling characteristics while providing good wet traction and fairly long tread life.

I ran Sumitomo HTRZII's on my Talon and loved the things for being such a cheap tire. I had 3 summers on them with at least 1 summer's worth of rubber still remaining when I ended up selling them along with my '99 GSX wheels. The wet traction was outstanding and the dry traction was very good. If I were to buy a cheap sub-$100 performance tire now I'd either get these again or the Fuzion ZRi's.

Read and you shall find your answer. I actually have got to play with them a little, and I like them. My buddy has them on his EVO and he agrees that for the price you pay, you get pretty decent tires.

Your question was if anyone had them. And yup I do. Hughes swayed me to get these. I ended up getting them used off CVD. I'd say for the price, you get a great tire. I don't think I've heard anyone who's owned them, talk negetive about them. SO if you're trying to save a little money, I'd say give em a try!

I am running Kumho MX's (very nice tire) on the talon right now, Nitto 555DR's ready to go on shortly. The new Yokohama Neova's are supposed to be the new king for a true street tire.

I have some non drag radial Nittos that I bought 6 years ago. They sucked when they were new and they still suck now.

I have a set of Fuzion ZRi's on my car right now. They replaced a set of potenza re730's. The Potenza 750's are $140/tire and supposed to be similar to the 730's, and I like the ZRi's about as much as thhe 730's. So, for $99/tire, they're not bad!

The main advantage to the 750 over the ZRi is the stiffer sidewall. The 750 should also be a bit grippier in the dry and also have better wet traction.

I used to have Yokohama AVS ES100's on my Talon and liked them a lot. The wet performance was amazing. The ZRi's had every bit of the dry performance of the AVS's, but were not quite as good in heavy rain.
I had a set of Nittos on the VR4 before I got the Potenza RE 750's and I did not like them at all. Garbage in the rain and not the stickiest of tires in the dry. They were NT555's I think.
ES100's, ZRi's, and Sumitomos are all pretty good tires if you dont want to spend a lot. If you have a bit more money though, be careful. Its easy to spend a lot of money on junk when it comes to the middle and high end summer tires.
Dunlops are to be avioded and generally arent worth the rubber they're made out of.

Bridgestone Potenza S-03s 245/45/ZR18

There tires are awesome, I have never had a tire that performed as good as these all around. Normally if they are sticky as hell on dry pavement, they suck in the rain. These tires seem like they have no weakness other than treadwear. They last about 10k miles, but who cares that just one summer then they need to be replaced.

The one thing that sucks about these tires is the price tag, about 240 dollars new.

I have some nitto 555's on the VR4 because that's what it came with.
