MN 3/S Dyno Day
Hey everyone,
The Minnesota 3/S guys are having a Dyno Day at RS Motors this Saturday, April 23rd. We are starting at 8am and going for 8-10 hours. We have a list of people that are dynoing, plus we have a reserve list for no shows. We might be able to squeeze in a DSM or two if you are interested. You'd be on the reserve list, and I can't guarantee you'll get to dyno, but you'll have about a 50/50 chance of it.
Even if you just want to come hang out with us and watch, come on down to RS Motors.

We'll be BBQ around noon. You can bring some food too if you want to grill. We'll be there all day, so bring a lawn chair too.
later,
Curt

Fudge, I wish I didn't have to work. I could get a baseline on the Galant. Oh well.

This sounds really fun! I think I'll just come and watch. Maybe bring some food.

Sweet! I've never been to RS Motors and I've never seen a 3/S on a dyno before. So it will be interesting what our lead sleds can do.

Re: MN 3/S Dyno Day
Damn, a chance to beat every 3S in town, and I could probably do it with a 14b.

Re: MN 3/S Dyno Day
Looks like we have a couple of 3/Ses that are backing out. We can probably squeeze in a DSM or two if anyone is up for it. Stop on by tomorrow.

Curt

Re: MN 3/S Dyno Day
I guess everyone posted lower numbers than expected, had boost control problems, or spun bearings. So yea, typical dyno day!
They wanted me to dyno my 2g there, but pump gas on a 16g in a crowd of tt 3.0 cars is not going to be very impressive

Re: MN 3/S Dyno Day
In case you don't want to read the MN 3/S thread, here is the results:
Matt J -- 436hp
Vitalli, Brad, John and Russ all between 299 to 305hp
Me -- 266hp
Nitron -- 236hp
Jeremy -- 228hp
The top five people had aftermarket turbos and myself and the two below me had the 9b stock turbos. Nobody broke anything on the dyno outside of a hose popping off.
Does anyone have a guess as to what the RS Motors dyno would compare to Elite's dyno if we were able to unhook our driveshafts with a welded diff?? I guess I'm looking for the difference between drivetrain loss from AWD to FWD and the differences in the dyno itself.
The Dyno Day was a lot of fun. There were a few DSMers there hanging out with us.

Curt

Re: MN 3/S Dyno Day
As for FWD vs AWD, I would guess that you'd just want to add 7-10% to those numbers, but as for the dyno differences, I've always heard that Mustangs 'read lower' ..very specific, I know...
So yea, I'd like to know too, anyone?
