Back from the dead

I couldn't stay away to long. What's up guys and gals I'm back.
Took a three year break from the scene to start my own trucking business and bought a 2009 Kenworth W-900l tractor and have been all over the the states, and all the mean while I'd come home with my GST sitting broken in the garage screaming FIX ME DUMMY.

Well I finally started doing just that. It's been sitting since Nov. of 09 with a garbage alt. broken belts, broken intercooler brackets, bolts missing, gaskets going to shit it was time to make her road worthy.

So I'm on the quest to more HP plans include
6 bolt swap
Big 16g externally gated
Dsm link
Cams 272/273 brand unknown
A/c delete, power steering delete I want a clutter free motor
New radiator & fans

Their that should piss away $2,500

So I'll be around a lot more on the boards or even take in an event or two.

Re: Back from the dead

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, its good to be back. For the past 3 years I've done nothing but diesel and diesel components, and I kind've grown retarded and can't remember simple things on my 2g. It's good to have knowledgeable people who like to throw a lending hand.

Why the 6 bolt some ask, IDK, its a stronger motor, you can make more HP than 7 bolts, I really like the sound of a 6 bolt idling "sounds meaner", its a sure fire way to piss off the wife lol. On the quest to 450 HP or more

"Their that should piss away $2,500" Now just multiply that X2 since it's a dsm and you should be in the ball park. Welcome back to the never ending somethings broken and needs to be fixed DSM game. Your wifes gonna be pissed now that you will be spending more time with your car then her.

Re: Back from the dead

All those reasons you listed for having a 6 bolt aren't true. Don't waste your money homes!

Plus then you can get more STICKERS!!

Re: Back from the dead

The 98 7 bolts are suppose to be stronger then the 95-97. I say keep the 7 bolt in there and see how what you can get out of it.

Really, I always thought 6 bolts had a strong bottom end but a weak top end.
And the 7 bolts had a weak bottom end but a strong top end. And as for the stickers, dudes each sticker you have adds 1 WHP. Lol

Re: Back from the dead

6 bolts have a strong bottom end. the 2g 7 bolts have a good flowing heads and forged pistons. But the 98 99 7 bolt motors can handle almost the same power as the 6 bolt. Go on youtube theres a 7 bolt that runs 10s.

Re: Back from the dead

Just commenting on 6-bolts sounding different and the 98-99 being stronger.

92.5-99 have the same exact rods. 95-99 have the same exact pistons. 92.5-99 and Evos have much weaker bottom ends than the 6-bolt due to the puny rods. The 7-bolts have cast pistons also.

Stronger 6-bolt bottom with the better 2G head is a good way to go though if you are trying to make a lot of power on the cheap.
