Good intercooler recommendations please.

I'm looking for an intercooler for a 2.3L, 62mm car.

I'm looking specifically at the ETS 4", my reasoning for the ETS is the quality and the flow through is good because the car has AC.

Please post only helpful things.

Thank you.

Aaron

What kind of car? I loved my ETS on my DSM because it seemed to be a good balance between performance, yet having less external fin density to still allow air through it for the radiator so the coolant temps stay decent. Perfect for street use. Plus the price was decent, they give a military discount, customer service was great, and it looked great. Zero complaints from me.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

I picked up 10whp at DB just by ditching my eBay intercooler and going with an ETS. It fits perfectly and is built just as good as any other, and usually for a lot less money.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

ETS, no doubt if I had to buy another that is who it is coming from.

Just saw you are looking at the 4" core. This is what I have as well. Pretty sure I will NEVER have problems with heat soak with this bastard.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

I'm just worried about flow-thru as well and picking the right size.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

my car does get warm sometimes if i dont have my fans on.. I have 2 10" ebay slim line fans for my rad and they get the job done. the fan on the drivers side i needed to make a heat sheld for. the wires started on fire the first time from heat of the turbo 0.o but now i got no issues, its not the most beautiful thing but it get the job done

I worried about the same. Hasn't been a problem yet, but I honestly planned on tossing a fan on it at some point anyway. Or dual good sized fans on the radiator. 4" is a hell of a lot bigger than you think it is too.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

I plan on going full size aluminum and good fans, not the ebay/cheap junk i usually go with.

I will keep AC no matter what.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

ETS ftw, I made a 2d drawing and boom I had it and they said it should support 900whp with safe intake air temps.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

I got rid of the AC, so that wasn't my concern. I did get mine anodized black. Blah blah blah it gets hotter and all that other crap...never have had a problem. Not that my car ever actually moves these days.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

What in/out size should I get?

2.5" or 3".

I was thinking 2.5" but someone mentioned that 6262 sized turbos usually step to a 3" outlet and they flow enough air to warrant a 3".

I'm not sure I've never really looked into the 2.5" vs 3" I think up to 600whp DJ 2.5" is good

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

I have seen 1000whp on 2.5" intercooler piping. Plenty of 600-850whp turbo cars run 2.5". I am not saying though that 3" might not help and make more power, I had 2.5" hot side and 3" cold side on my 2G.

Re: Good intercooler recommendations please.

Cool, I think with the AC I'll stay with 2.5" for clearance.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it.
