Build your Dream DSM...

If you haven't done this... well you probably aren't a true DSMer.

Keep this realistic, but pretend money isn't an object for the most part.

Evo boys... this thread doesn't apply to you!

Head - Mild Port, Springs, Retainers
Head Gasket - Fel-Pro PermaTorque
Cams - HKS 264 Intake / HKS 272 Exhaust
Head Studs - ARP
Block - 2.0 W/ 1g Big Rods mated to 2g Pistons (2.3 wouldn't be bad either, but trying to keep it simple)
Turbo - HTA68
Exhaust Mani. - Forced Performance Race Cast Manifold, Ceramic Coated
Intake Mani. - Hawver Motorsports Cast Aluminum Intake Manifold, Thermal Dispersant Coated
Intake - Forced Performance Intake with Recirculation mated with 2g MAS
Boost Control - Hallman Boost Controller
Exhaust - Megan Racing 3" Downpipe (ceramic coated) to 3" Megan Racing Cat-Back Exhaust W/ Megan Racing 3" Test Pipe
o2 Housing - LIPP Cast, Ceramic Coated
Injectors - FIC BlueMAX Fuel Injectors 1350cc (smaller if on pump only)
Fuel Pump - Full Blown 1g DSM Dual Walbro Kit (over kill for sure, sue me )
FMIC Core / Piping - ETS 'Race' Intercooler Core w/ 2.5" piping and J-pipe, Thermal Dispersant on Core and Piping
Wideband - Innovate LC-1
ECU - Eprom W/ DSMLink
BOV - Greddy Type S
Oil Cooling - Setrab Oil Cooler (thermal dispersant coated) W/ 90 Oil Cooler Housing and Boomba Oil Catch Can
Radiator - Fluidyne Aluminum Race Radiator, Thermal Dispersant Coated

then the other obvious basic mods...

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

I thought you said money is no object. I think you can do better than Megan racing parts, LIPP O2 housing, Innovate LC-1, and stock internals.

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

Yea, well, that is *my* dream set up... it might not be a 700whp build...

but it is reliable, basic, and good street power IMO.

Edit - I agree with you on Megan Racing parts... but I love their DSM exhaust parts, they are nice pieces IMHO. Also why are you hating on stock internals?? You think that set-up is gonna be pushing 500 AWHP on your dyno? I think not, so stock internals should do.

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

Those injs and fuel pumps are too big for the HTA68. A single pump setup would be much more reliable.

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

you just about listed my 2g build to the item. It is a good setup, would suggest the 2.3 though. Works well.

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

Munch stage 5 long block (thing could handle 1 million awhp ). Not sure what would be in it, but it'd be amazing!

FP exhaust mani
FP dsm 82hta
Side exit exhaust
Built auto w/billet converter
Direct port nitrous with a nice big shot
Full interior
Some slicks

And a tune from Shane!

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

haha no suspension mods? You'd think you'd want a little more power if you're not going to make the thing turn

You still aren't going to need twin pumps or 1350s. I am just giving you shit though.

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

Well I almost put the suspension set-up as KYB / AGX, but I figured someone would destroy me on that *cough* shane *cough*.

Obviously there are better set-ups, but this build is realistic for the most part money wise to me. Something I have been dreaming about for a while. Someday, someday...

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

Oh lol, I didn't mean reliable in the sense of car functionality. I meant it as in that is a sick ass build and would take sick skills to accomplish.

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

I was thinking e85. What size injectors do you think I should go with? I thought 850s would be big enough.

Re: Build your Dream DSM...

^ Ditch the SCM61 and get something smaller / newer. Will make as much power and be much better for you on the street. SCM61 is a dino turbo bro.
