MAPerformance FDSM goes 8.81 at Englishtown!
We were the quickest pass of the day (with the exception of a rail car) even with all that stiff competition and having to get out of it around the 1000' mark The track was in less than favorable condition as can be seen by our first few runs. Did I mention we drove this car to and from Turbotrix the day before?
60' ~ 1.34
1/8 ~ 5.60 @ 126
1/4 ~ 8.81 @ 138

What kind of 60' was it pulling? Did you run in the Quick 16?
What did Kiggly run?

I am pretty sure the 60' was a 1.3x on the 8sec pass.
Kiggly ran an 8.9x.
Everyone said the track was complete horse shit and that nothing was hooking worth a damn.

Re: MAPerformance FDSM goes 8.81 at Englishtown!
Good job, but is the car down on power a bit? Even if you let of at the last second I would have thought you would have trapped a bit higher than 138. Looks to me like the 60' had to be in the 1.3/1.4 range. Great job though, the car seemed to hooked and stay straight for most of the run.

You can lose a lot of mph quick when you let off though. ET might not change much when do let off at the top on the track, but mph can go down a lot.

Yeah I guess, but when you did it you let off like 3/4 track or sooner, I might be missing something but it looks like he let off like 50ft before the traps. Wait now it looks like he might have hit the breaks a bit too, hard to tell.

60' 1.34
1/8th 5.60 @ 126
We didn't run in the Q16 as we wouldn't have been competitve with reaction time as a factor, as you can see it takes a few seconds to get on the converter. In regards to power we turned it back to 40psi (~850whp) based on the traction issues, but the trap speed in the 1/4 was definitely affected when I got out of it top end. Apparently mph is determined between the 1000' and 1/4 mile markers. I hate to bench race but I think it has a sub 8.50 @ 160ish in it even at it's current power level...

Do you use a trans brake, or is there anything you could do to "get on the converter" sooner?

Re: MAPerformance FDSM goes 8.81 at Englishtown!
We use a trans brake and nitrous currently, we do have an option called a VSC or variable stall controller that "loosens" the converter under launch conditions but we have a lot more testing and suspension tuning to do before we start to think about heads up competition.

Haha, yes, the charging system was fixed. The car even sat in traffic for like 15 minutes while they were out tuning low throttle!

awesome run! scarry though, it seemed like the car was going off a bit towards the 1000 mark. FDSM sounds amazing though
