I'm addicted to Vick's NyQuil. Haven't been able to sleep lately, so I've been hitting the bottle. Sure does the trick.

I always stay up and work on stuff when I can't sleep. New webmail systems, upgrades to various sites, checking out those pics I took of your mom way-back-when...seriously though, if you're addicted, get help.

Otherwise switch to something a little more main-stream, like Scotch. A little night-cap never hurt anyone...hrm, where's the Oban...

Yeah I was having a shot of whiskey before sleeping. Then acouple. Then I got sick and it's been a few weeks of this. I feel shame. But it works like a charm. Take the cup-full and I'm out in 20 min.

I've been fighting it for the past hour to see what happens. I'm starting to feel like I'm sinking in the chair (similar to when I took codiene laced IBprofen). Goodnight guys.

I just sit on the internet til the late hours of the night and then wake up feeling like shit in the morning from lack of sleep.

I have found that 3 or 4 beers during the 2 hours before bed helps the situation. It doesnt get you buzzy but sure help you fall a sleep.

Easy on that stuff you don't want to become dependant on it to sleep. Once in a great while I'll take a tyenol PM to help me to get sleepy, but that is mostly when I want to get to sleep before 10.

That's what I take for the same reason! Otherwise, I normally have no problem crashing before 11 p.m.

If I absolutely need to sleep and I can't do it, I'll whip out some work safety documents or something equally boring, that stuff will put you to sleep better then any medicine out there!

We sell a ton of that stuff at work. We used to keep it behind the counter in the pharmacy, and we would make the customers sign before they bought it. But now since the board has realized the pseudoephrine in nyquil cannot be extracted, it is out on the floor again and people buy it by cases haha. They will probably start making gallon sized containers soon. Sure knocks you out tho.

Same here to a point. Alcohol generally fires me up, but of course after enough I pass out. Once in a while, if I'm already tired, a few beers in me and I can't keep my eyes open.
