DSM bov question:

What is involved in making the bov release to the atmosphere? Is there some kind of a kit, or something that i would have to buy? I'm just curious, if it's less than $50 i'll do it. but if not, then screw it.

Do you have an aftermarket BOV? Normally you would just disconnect the hose that goes from the BOV to to air intake pipe going to the turbo. You will have to compensate it some how though with either S-AFC or DSMlink type device. Any air entering throught the MAF sensor is metered via the ECU. If you vent out that metered air without tricking the computer your car will run like shit.

You can not compensate for a vented BOV with a S-AFC or DSMLink. The only way to vent w/o ill effect on your car would be to go with either a VPC, standalone, or MAFT blow-through. If you are doing this for your Accord project, there is no kit needed, just don't hook-up the dump tube. I don't say this often, but search around a bit for these basic questions both on this site and the numerous other DSM sites. This same question is answered everytime a n00b joins up.

Hmmm..... i did not know that then. I have a buddy that's got a 1g Talon that's pretty much stock, 14b.. etc and he vents to the atmoshpere with a blitz. He used the S-AFC II. Seems to work fine for him. I have verified this in person with him.

okay, when the bov makes its ghey noise its releasing air that was metered beforehand, take that air away and you have a RICH situation momentarily. yet you say you tuned that out with the afc? so lets say you shift at 7 grand everywhere you go, the next gear you grab is gonna give you 5900-ish rpm (awd at least). so you lean that out, yay problem solved? oh wait no, thats only if you blow off at that specific rpm every single time, not to mention on your way up to your 7k shift point you pass through what rpm range??? ohhhhh 5900, so if you tune the rich shit out from your improperly used bov, you are running lean at that rpm range whenever you aren't ricing around town going PSHHHH at ugly girls.

congrats

sorry man, i'm not to that stage with turbos where i'm worried about my bov not holding boost. i still enjoy the sounds. just a simple question i had, and i guess it's answered. unless there's some other way to get that mas out of there.

As long as you have a MAF/MAS before the BOV, you can't tune out the sideeffects of dumping a BOV to atmosphere. Your specific car might not stall or buck or anything, but it still will be too rich after dumping.

That is made by Ramchargers, the company that produces our MAF-T, but it not the one you are looking for. https://www.ramchargers.com/cgi-bin/...839&cat2=29842

This is what you are looking for, and then you would need the appropriate MAF to go with it. The other nice thing about the MAF-T is that it has mild piggyback airflow tuning abilities. I wouldn't say it is on the same level as the AFC, but it is a cheap substitute. The GM MAF is available in 3,3.5, and 3.75 inch sizes found on various GM cars and trucks. I would look around a junkyard for the sensor itself as buying a new one would be fairly expensive, and used ones in yards could be found easily and cheaper.

Re: DSM bov question:

I can't get the second link to work, maybe I am just impatient. But the first link is correct, but I wouldn't pay that much for it. Just go to a junkyard, they can be found pretty easily and a lot cheaper than that.

Re: DSM bov question:
