See, Cher is a perfect example. He ranked #13 in his class and seems to have no knowledge of anything besides Jason Mraz and wheel dish. And what kind of BS is having a GPA over 4.0? Sound like the school was artificially inflating the grades to get federal funding. Especially if Cher had such a high GPA. :)

He meant out of the 12 point scale. ;) Our high school was out of the 12 point scale and I have never heard of the 5 point scale. My schools never gave out A+.

Also, at our school there were many people with a 12.0 gpa so there was no real smartest student. If you got 1 B, you would drop many gpa points. I was in the middle of my class rank (600 students) and I had a B+ average.

See, we didn't have +'s or -'s. It's a pretty fair system if you think about it because it separates the students that are actually taking challanging classes from the ones taking "normal" classes. The AP classes were the weighted classes. My valedictorian got straight A's throughout the years and I just backed off his ass after sophomore year because I didn't wanna become a super geek. He also passed all the AP tests and ended up getting into med school 2 years early. Another thing in my class was there were two students that scored perfects on their ACTs and SATs, so they bumped up our school avg a little bit. The year before and after mine had super high ACT/SAT scores also. School is school. I don't know how someone couldn't graduate high school. You'd have to be: A. very unintelligent B. messed up in the head and skip a bunch of school C. a very slow learner D. All of the above

I believe we had a few students, in my graduating class, at Mounds View HS ... I want to say 6... that scored perfect on their ACT and SAT tests.

I would like to say BS as I believe there were only 2 kids in the state that aced one of the tests. I believe one of them went to mnnetonka and I think it was the SAT. There is a kid who I work with who still lives in HS even though he has graduated.
I graduated Normandale in May getting an AA degree with emphasis in Accounting.
Peter- How many semesters did you take at Normandale?

They keep changing the SAT to try to keep the overall average scores up to make it look like the US education system isn't a mess. You don't have to do perfect on the SAT to get a perfect score either.

IM graduating from rosemount High school with a 2.54 and i scored a 29 on my ACT, this to say, homework is how much you try, and do homework. AP classes are more in a sense like college. Due to having a 70% weighted grade on tests. And like 10% on homework, I really love taking AP classes! HAHA...

LOL. I don't remember which one I took but I got through the reading section, 1/2 way through science and got pretty bored/hungry and it was near noon, so I just said I was done and left. Still scored average too.
I remember how everyone was freaking out over these test, not worth it. I did however freak out/work my butt off for some certification tests some years later though.
