Got this from a friend....

Thought these comparisons were kinda funny. Wanted to post them in the "war" threads but Ill just make a new thread haha.

:bounce:

"I'm trying to get all this political stuff straightened out in my head so
I'll know how to vote come November. The liberal/left biased main line
news media (and their friends in the Democratic Party) are not helping
me.
In the past they have said one thing....now they are saying something
else.
Lemme see; have I got this straight?

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good...
Bush awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia - good...
Bush spends 87 billion in Iraq - bad...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian terrorists-
good...
Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator - bad...

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good...
Bush bombs terrorist camps - bad...

Clinton commits felonies while in office - good...
Bush lands on aircraft carrier in jumpsuit - bad...

No mass graves found in Serbia - good...
No WMD found Iraq - bad...

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - good...
Economy on upswing under Bush - 5.4% unemployment.. record home
sales...bad...

Kerry proposes socialistic economic agenda including major tax
increases.... good
Bush impements tax cuts which revitalizes the US economy and returns
money
to the people...bad

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...
World Trade Centers fall under Bush - bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nukes - good...
Bush says Saddam has nukes - bad...

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good...
Bush imposes regime change in Iraq - bad...

Terrorist training in Afghanistan under Clinton - good...
Bush destroys training camps in Afghanistan - bad...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good...
Saddam turned over for trial - bad...

Senate Democrats allow confirmation of judicial appointments to Federal
Bench only if they have liberal/left biased agenda.... good
Bush nominates judges to the Federal Bench who will utilize US
Constitution
as basis for decisions...bad...

Ahh, it's so confusing!

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax
burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day".

This is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the
government. This year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the
earliest
it has been since 1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred
in
2000. Notice anything special about those dates?

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are
actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no
explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy
men.
Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all
worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old
barn
brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that
sound
right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a
way to avoid paying his own.

Only a few days until the election"

Interesting huh?

I agree with MOST of that.

I just don't think that Kerry would even be so close if it weren't for two things:

1) September 11th, 2001. Let's say Al Gore won. We would all be blaming the economy on him, AND I highly doubt he would have gone to war over this. If we had not gone to war, what kind of signal does that send to other contries. That the US will just roll over and take it. Just like Clinton did. How many times under the Clinton Administration did Sadaam refuse entry to UN Weapons inspectors? Too many to count. And he also had the chance to catch Osama Bin Ladin, which he didn't. Republicans have BAD ideas, but Democrats don't have any of their own. Which is more dangerous? Apparently Kerry has "A PLAN". I know cause I heard him say it about 75 times last night. The only plan I see him talking about is bashing Bush. If he would just tell me what he believes is good for the country, I might be able to believe it too. He just keeps telling me what Bush is doing wrong, and I think we all know all that stuff anyway.

TO elaborate: If Bush was in office, and Sept 11 never happened, I highly doubt the economy would suck as bad as it does, but it's still improving.

2) His wife. HE is not a Millionaire, his wife is. I heard about his wife before I even knew that her husband was a Senator. And it says something about a man who spends millions on himself, and wants to raise taxes. I guess I don't own a house, and I don't pay a lot of taxes, so I really don't have an opinion there. But Kerry was dead wrong with education last night. Pell Grants aren't going down, I got one, and it paid for my school. I even applied for Financial Aid late, so most of them were already awarded, and I was given one 3 days before school started. Kerry wants to give me loans. The last thing I need is another loan. I do think that I should be held accountable for my schooling, but government funded schools are charging almost as much as private or religeous institutions, so if I go to a state school, the state better help pay if their going to charge me private school tuition.

I guess I just don't see a lot of good coming from the Kerry corner. Bush didn't do everything right, but he did what he THOUGHT was right, and stuck to it.

"I actually voted for the 87 Billion dollar funding before I voted against it"

What is that? Scary.

I also recall him saying that Sadaam Hussein was not a credible threat to the US yet.

Should we wait til he is, John Kerry? So we can repeat a Sept 11 like catastrophe? No thanks. We may never know what Sadaam is capable of, but in my eyes, that's a good thing.

I cannot sit here all day typing as I am at work. Your "friend" above does not have all the facts down. One for example is that Bush only spent $87 billion in Iraq. He has spent over $120 billion and the costs are expected to reach over $200 billion by the end of everything.

If you want to know where a canidate stands on certain issues go to their website. If you haven't noticed, the debates are mostly spent badmouthing the other person. No body gets much across. If Bush doesn't want to answer a question directed at him, he just avoids it and switches to another topic. Here are the sites for the uneducated people:

http://www.georgebush.com/
or
http://www.johnkerry.com

How is there an easier way to find info?
As I am still here, Education has gotten worse. I got a small grant last year and this year I recieved no grant at all. I have to foot all the money out of my pocket. I am not sure if this was your first grant or not JDM but it has not gotten better for me. My income has not changed much at all and I get no money compared to the $400-500 I recieved last year per semester taking 16-17 credits. If you got a grant this year and not last year, you should check your income change. It has gotten worse for me.
I will probly come back later. It has taken me ~30 minutes to type this as I am trying to help customers. See Ya!
