I don't see what the big deal about school is, I go to UST and pay through the ass! Tuition 25,000 a yr, i recieved 2,400 from the gov't, thats 22,600 out of my pocket. Big Deal! School is my choice, why should americans pay for me to go to school with their taxes...if i want to go to school, i'll pay for it. I also take at least 16 credits a semester, work a full time job and own a business...free time?!?! No such thing, i haven't gone out with my friends more than twice this year probably. I have no options though because i'm in the same position, if i don't...no school next semester. Frugal, my god...I eat Ketchup sandwichs and Ramen most meals with a glass of water - thats under a dollar right there, sucks - you're damn right, but once again its how life works at the moment and Big Deal. Instead of bitching about the cost of stuff and wanting other people to take the burden, man up and learn some financial intelligence. If someones education is that hard on them, quit, otherwise do what you have to do and shut up about it. It's your choice you're there. I'm almost glad i don't recieve gov't aid, because when i graduate i do not want to pay for all americans to go to school either. :naughty:

I think the reason I got so much aid is because I had a brother and sister still dependent upon my parents, which comes into play, and that I'm a minority.

I agree with slimstyle.

Its your choice to go to school. And how does normandale cost 9000+ a year? I pay about 1500-2000 per semester so thats about 4000 per year.

You have alot of money invested in DSM's right? How can you complain then if all you money is going into cars?

Kerry has "opinions" to me they are just magical plans of total unreality. To me he thinks money comes from the sky and it will fix all the problems we have.

I am not complaining, I am just saying that it has not gotten better like all the republicans would like everyone to believe.
As far as needing to gain financial responsibility, call me up if you want to talk about it. I have kept a budget since I was in 11th grade. My cell is 952-412-6084. I am going into accounting. I do not know how to handle money though...

The loans grants have nothing to do with what school you are attending. The report stated that my family can afford to support me with $9000/ year which is complete bull shit. As far as tuition, I payed ~$2600 this semester as I had to spend over $500 in books (~5000/ year). I cannot wait until I try and transfer to the U of M next year and have to pay that shit out of pocket.

You have alot of money invested in DSM's right? How can you complain then if all you money is going into cars?

I cannot afford to put any money into my cars. That is why only my 79 cadillac is insured. I cannot afford fucking insurance on my DSM. I want to get out of them ASAP. None of mine run, they are all undriveable. Two are just shells now (one had the fucken window smashed the other day  . The car will now see rain and snow). My 92 needs the engine pulled and rebuilt. I cannot even afford to pay enes to tow it home.
Once again I am not complaining. I am going to get out of DSMs to help pay for college. I am still debating on fixing the talon to sell or parting it out.

Haha, rock on 92tsi...I'm also double majoring in accounting and finance and also just entered the MBA program. Business rules, i like to hear that! I'm also glad to see younger people owning up to it. I also have paid for everything except a house over my head since 9th grade. The only thing is though, at school they teach you how to be an employee not how to be financially intelligent. Financial wealth is not taught in schools, there isn't a single class on it. See the problem in america is not that people do not make enough money, it's that they spent it all a few years ago...

My mom, making a 40,000/yr income is supposed to pay for my brother and I going to college while others that have plenty of money get the aid. I know of a kid at work who gets government aid for the U of M even though his dad makes over 100,000/yr. He has since dropped out after 1 year of school. The point is that the government isn't using the financial aid or loans effectively. I don't get anything, not even a loan.
