I think if you search hard enough on the interwebs, you're going to something that is wrong with every car, and most likely the people that speak out about it are the ones with the most problems. Think about all the people who aren't on forums or dont have a car with problems so they dont post about it.

Agreed 100%. I was going to post that on FB for you Aaron but haven't had time yet.
Also, for what its worth, the new legacy 2012/2013 I was looking at buying was a considerably worse car that the top 3 I ended at and much worse than the car I ended up with (suzuki).
The new kia optima and hyndai sonata felt 100x better than the new subaru. I even took my dad and buddy back to make sure I wasn't comparing it unfairly for whatever reason and they agreed they were in different leagues. The legacy was boring, interior was lacking and the ride wasn't great.
I do remember the older legacy gt's around 2007 I seemed to like a lot more.
Maybe it was because i was in the base legacy but it was pretty rough for the price tag.
If you haven't try out the hyundai, great boring DD in my opinion :)

Brown - Have you read through Murlo's $15k DD thread? It's surprisingly identical to this one.

My personal advice, if this is truly just for a DD car, you'd be better of with something newish with a warranty than a more used "luxury" car. A lot of times the newer econoboxes have just as many, or more, features than luxury cars from 5-10 years ago.

Yeah I want this to be more of a DD, than a luxury car.
I found a few nice civics, tsx's even, shouldn't of gotten bored at work.

Tough to go wrong with a civic, I think they are great cars. The newest ones seem questionable but like 2008-2011 ones seem great. I had one as a rental car for like 2 months, was solid.

Buy a grand prix with 70k miles for $7500. Then drive that bitoch til whenever and you wont break the bank. Out of curiousity, why are you looking to spend that much on a DD? Not that its crazy expensive or anything, but i know you've been dying to get an evo so why not buy a cheaper dd that will be exactly what it is? just a to and from car. imo i'd save my money get a good, not luxury dd and save whats leftover for the car you've been enamored over.
ps i drive a 2005 grand prix gt, cloth seats, factory radio (no bose) smooth as hell driving. dependable as all hell. and i spent a whopping 6k on it with 60k miles. this is just me, but hey its simple and it works. plus without spending tons of cash or getting a $10,000+ loan I have all that extra cash to drop on the evo or save up for another project :D

How about something like a 2000 Honda Civic?

99-00 Civic EX would be the ultimate DD for me.

Id love a mid 2000 civic, but their interiors are horrid. Anything older will be rusty for sure..
These threads are hurting my brain.
