We will work on getting some official rules posted.

This is from last year. It's not real precis.

Stock Appearing Class:

The class is open to 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder cars only. This class is open to FWD, RWD and AWD cars. This class is for the daily driven factory turbocharged & supercharged sport compact cars with original block and cylinder head. This class will be run heads up.

Must have stock frame turbo
Stock Manifolds (Intake and Exhaust)
DOT Radials Only
Must have full interior

I am going to try and refine these rules to help with any questions. I would think that if we open the hood and it appears essentially stock it will be able to run.

We did not allow SMIM's last year.

Jordan didn't allow my tubular ex manifold last year, I even made it so the stock manifold heat shield could cover but he said don't bother. It's not a long tube header or a MAP manifold either. I wasn't expecting to pass tech for stock appearing but I know some other cars did with tubular ex manifolds.

Can't wait for the event next year, glad it is happening!

What was the fastest "stock class" car last year?

Depending upon what the winter brings, I may have a little 6 cylinder that could give a few a run for their money.

Do you allow reconfigured intercooler setups, such as a FMIC on a side mount vehicle?

What about fuel lines and other lines?

Thats BS. You're even running a stock frame turbo right?

I really hope that tech is left to the professionals of BIR and their discretion in 2012. 20 minutes per car was a bit absurd.

I think Bryce ran an 11.4 in his Evo IX.

I suspect there will be slew of cars in the 11.0 range this time.

It's humorous that you think we were the problem. Jed's a great guy but it was BIR that dropped the ball last year as they were supposed to have more staff for tech, Jordan helped as a courtesy to them to speed up the process. Also, do you think BIR's normal tech staff could appropriately class our cars? People are complaining about tubular manifolds and stock appearing turbos having made it through last year even with Jordan in the tech lane.

My car will (well should) be ready this time finally! YAY!

Looking forward to this, just need a helmet and I am good to go.

Maybe you could have cars pass through BIR tech get their sticker or whatever saying they passed tech. Then have the car drive down a bit to MAP guys or other car guys which ask the owner of the car what class the person wants to race in. That person can then quickly go over the car and determine if they fit into that class (stock manifolds) or if they have to go up a class.

^^^ this.

Also if a DSM has a front mount, automatically make it not stock appearing?
