Am I missing something in the first video that has you all incensed?

Video doesn't show anyone shooting a dog in front of a kid. Doesn't show what the dog was doing that provoked shooting and killing it. There's no information regarding why a warrant like that was issued. I didn't see any police brutality or other outrageous things that occurred.

There is not enough information presented in the link you posted to drawn any kind of conclusion other than police officers executed a search warrant, shot a dog, arrested a man, and woman and child were also present in the house.

The point is that they produced a search warrant for a MISDEMEANOR which resulted in the family's pets being shot and the family traumatized. Had the law done its duty and caught the guy for possession this wouldn't be such a big deal.

Guess I'll take a stab at the second link also...

Would these students have worn american flag shirts and bandannas any other day, or did they specifically wear them on on 5 May to make a point? I'll agree that it's a little stupid to get in trouble for wearing the colours of our country but I don't support people being assholes just because they feel like it—if that is indeed what they were attempting to do.

Again, we don't really know the full story or the intentions of the five students so its hard to draw any real conclusion...

then theres the small shit in the things the officers says. actually officer he dosnt have to give you his name that is not an officers right. When someone dosnt move their hands fast enough that is not grounds for kicking him. and if they were really worried about security they would of handcuffed the wife as well but they didnt. Protocall was bullshit here, im suprised they remembered to bring a camera and turn it on.

shooting the dog was the result of a over adrenaline filled cop with a trigger happy finger. Better training and regulations are massively needed here. But in reality because it was "in the line of duty" the officers will be told they did what they had to and no consequences or retraining will happen.

In cases like these officers need to know 110% that what they are looking for is inside that house. Obviously they didnt.

Im not anti cop at all an usually go to the side of the law. I studied criminal justice in colege and never pursued it. but in this case those officers were in the wrong and apologies need to be made and the original charges dropped for the trauma they caused

Where exactly does it say that? They executed a search warrant for unknown (to us) reasons. They charged him with a misdemeanor.

Unless we know the specifics of what the warrant was for and why it was issued we can't draw any conclusions about what "the law" did or did not do. I don't believe that you can have a warrant issued for a misdemeanor offense. However, if you' like me to confirm that with my brother, I will be happy to do so.

I wouldn't be surprised, government does what ever the hell it wants to these days.

I love the attitude.

Turns out a warrant can be issued for most anything. From warrants for your arrest because you didn't pay your parking ticket to a no-knock search warrant for an eighth of weed. However, for that search warrant to be issued you'll need probable cause and have a judge sign it.

So...it's possible they executed a search warrant specifically to find a "small amount" of weed. It is however, highly improbable that they found a judge willing to sign a warrant for a "small amount" of weed.

So, again we find ourselves needing some facts surrounding this case and not a bunch of conjecture.

I agree with this. I unfortunately can't watch this video on my work machine, but what ype of dog was it and was the dog in any way appearing to attack or threaten the officer? If so, I say the killing of it was justified unless it some some tiny rat dog running around nipping at ankles, in which case kicking it into a wall would be justifiable.
