Toyota uses this design, but it works quite well. I have yet to see one snap, but at the same time theirs is a bit more beefy.

Back on topic...

Are Toyota's caps billet as well?

If they have to pull the motor to deal with the head on an STi then our issues seem academic. The reason I junked my `96 Impreza is because the head went out...they wanted more than blue book to fix it.

Not until 2005 unless you have the '04 RS.

WTF? just trying to create drama?

On subaru forums

What makes a STi Better then an EVO?

Just creating hate...

On a side note I am not a Ken Block follower but I just wanted to point out I don't see many Evos being driven like that anymore. It probably has to do with sponsorship but come on I want to see what the evo can DO!!!

The best car out of the bunch is the Evo 6.5 IMO

Whoa Whoa Whoa. Take a deep breath and take a chill pill. I was simply asking for people's opinions here, not trying to create any hate. I think you are putting waaaay more into this than there really needs to be. The reason I titled the MNSubaru thread "What makes an STi better than a Evo?" is because, really, who on a Subaru site would answer the question "What makes an Evo better than an STi?" with any response other than, "it's not." OK? You can go ahead and settle down already.

Jebus, a guy would think this was a mitsustyle political debate with all the tension in here. It's just a friendly debate/discussion, that's all. :D

I think you need to take a history lesson first, and then look at this question.

It's all about personal preference. Some evo's can do things better that some STi's can't, and vice-versa. They've both been very good at WRC, autocross, tracking, you name it.

Not sure who that was directed at...

A more appropriate title wouldve been, "what's better, an Evo, or an STI?" Which is still a very vague question. There will be a biased response, based on what site you're on.

Me being a mitsu guy, I love the evo. I've rode in a few, never driven one (if someone wants to change that, lmk ;) ), and have helped work on a couple. I've owned 6 1g's, and worked on idk how many other ones; so the evo platform has always been more appealing, due to the similarities to dsm's. Nothing seems fun about working on a subaru, and I think a lot of us here, like to fix our own stuff (I believe that goes for most forums). Making power never seems to be too much of an issue with evo's, while I honestly don't see 600hp STI's around too much.

Evo>STI IMHO.

Oh, and if sound is what you're after, go get yourself a "I'm a douchebag" card, and buy an SRT4 with an exhaust.

Which is exactly why I changed the titles from site to site. Thank you for your input.

STi's are better at jumping because of the motor layout.

Yeah, the side to side motion of the pistons keeps the car from rolling to one side or the other in flight. The up-down motion on the Evo pushes the nose down. Everyone knows that.

Are we comparing stock to stock? or modified to modified?
