Midwest Mayhem was supposed to go down at Interstate Dragways. There was quite a bit of support for that, but things didn't quite come through in the end. It would have worked if one of the organizers had the money to front some. We got the 1/2 down 2 days too late and all the organizers actually lost money from paypal fees.

I think BIR would be better. At least it's in the same state.

BIR was like $12,500 to rent the track, it was nuts.

The Iowa tracks are fun if you can find a few events the same weekend, which makes the drive worthwhile. Sounds like the Aug 3/4 weekend fits that bill.

I'd be up for a weekend of racing. Will we be able to camp at one of the tracks or near by?

I know Tristate has camping, and for a hotel near Cedar Falls I'd suggest the Super 8 in Waverly. It's 10 min from the track and there is a HOliday station between the track and the hotel with e85.

And it's actually 60ish miles from one track to the other, from mapquest, so even one location could work.

Don't forget the scenery at the Cedar Falls bars thanks to UNI so there is always a reason to go out at night.

So, everyone going then on the first weekend of august? I'm tempted to even hit up RF on hte 28th, despite how shitty they are, since it'd be my first time, and it's a close track.

Screw the rock, if you're just looking for parctice staging or launching your car go to Grove Creek. It's only 1/8th mile but it's close.
