The 2000+ Eclipse also lost them a lot of money because they gave them away to every stripper that came in for the 0 down, 0 interest, and 0 payments for a year deal and end up defaulting when it actually came time to start making payments.

Well none-the-less, it was not the vehicle's performance/styling that was at fault for the financial issues.

I'm with John on this one, I am not looking forward to that car at all. I mean open deck aluminum block? What is that? I've had to work on several cars with turbos in the back, its beyond me why anyone would want that. I dont like the styling that much either. One thing that drives me nuts about the 3g Eclipse is how the 2g doesnt show through at all. I think the newer version has to show a bit of its roots you know what I mean? Well, the X doesnt look like a IX to me at all. I also agree, I like old cars far more than newer ones (minus the Evo). I would take a late 80s-late 90s sports car over newer stuff any day.

What I am really really really hoping for is that they will put all the cheap parts on its cheap lancer counter.
In dsm terms meaning the gs version or the stripped down version of the car. With the price tag, I am hoping that they will put all the quality parts then into the evo. However putting the turbo in the back? What does this accomplish? In the magazine it states so that all the weight will be centered more. I am all for new ideas, however we should ask the question why they put the turbo in the front of the car in the first place. I would have thought it would be cooler there with the fans and the radiator. I have opened the hood to only find a glowing turbo and exhaust manifold. Things get pretty hot there, especially if its a rally race and there is an anti lag or misfiring system on the car. GLOWING RED HOT!! Looking at the specs the new evo even weighs 200 pounds heavier. Every evo thats come out, it seems like more weight has been added. What is the point of trying to distribute the weight if you can't keep the weight off the car! Racers found out light weight is the key for everything, better gas milage, horse power per weight, handling, and parts don't break as often. Found that out the hard way with the heavy DSM car! Thats why I want an early evo (1-3) because they weigh less then our DSM cars!

I agree on the styling. Have you ever looked at the evo X and a dodge charger? It is quite sickening to compare the similarities.

What I am interested in though is the Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) technology. Active Center Differential (ACD), Active Yaw Control (AYC) and Active Stability Control (ASC). They have already fited one system on a Evo 9 and already they said it is unbelievable. If this system is perfected, we could be looking at something more powerful then a skyline system. The great thing is that the S-AWC has already been adapted to a Evo 9 for testing purposes. I am hoping that later if the Evo X doesn't work out, the system could always be fitted to a earlier Evo. What a combo that would be!!! Light weight early evo (4g63) with a traction control system more sophisticated then a skyline ::drool::
