That part covers one of those safty thingys called a crash bar. Not that DSM'ers don't ditch it all the time anyways.
Just a safty thingy? Well shit rip that fucker right out then.

Why do I keep thinking Cobalt SS?
It would be nice if Mitsu dumped the old 4G63 into a more affordable platform. Just some piece of shit with an AWD 4G63 (aka Eclipse). It doesn't need Super-Duper AWD System 5.0, race suspension and come ready to take to a rally. Hopefully they also figure out how to keep the new Evos from rusting instantly too.
I completely agree with that. That's why I'm looking forward to them coming out with that RalliArt version that's supposed to be more comparable to a standard WRX. Screw the supercar handling, the HID's, the leather, electronically controlled drivetrain. Just an AWD car, with somewhat decent looks, with a decent motor. Hell give it pop-ups too!! :)

Sounds boring....like a WRX. It would sell quite well I'm sure since it would appeal to the masses and Mitsu definitely needs some sort of stepping-stone between the regular Lancer and the EVO. Appealing to the masses is not what the EVO is designed to do.

Well I don't consider a GSX boring. And that's all I'm looking for. Something comparable to the DSM's. A good platform, doesn't need brembo brakes, a carbon fiber spoiler, and some super suspension. Just something that has a decent platform, and is affordable, and has decent looks. I don't road race, I suck at it, and I am not comfortable taking sharp turns at high speeds. I like accerating real fast! So keep the electronically controlled drivetrain, keep the HID's, the recaro seats, and the big spoiler. Give me something like what the DSM's were, cheap, fun, and easy to build upon.
But I'm not saying I don't love evo's. I think they are great, I just can't afford one at the moment. If they came out with that RalliArt, well in 4 years, I may be able to afford one.

I agree. They definatly need a stepping stone between the regular Lancer and the Evo. I can't figure out why Mitsu doesn't do that. Subaru had pretty wood success with the WRX, so I would think Mitsu would do well with a similar car.
They had a concept called the Tarmac. Not sure what happened to it, guess they just figured people wouldnt pay Evo prices for something smaller than an Evo...or maybe they just didnt want to make a car that was slightly cheaper than the Evo that outperformed it because it was lighter.

I wont be buying one. But I sure am going to drool over it. I can see were B is going at on this. The reason why the Evo VIII and IX's were spendy is because all that extra stuff. Custom Recaro seats Brembo brakes...Carbon fiber wing. They should of just went back to the 3/S wing that looks the same, and used it. They had a deal with Enkei I think with the Ralliart Lancer rims. So keep the rims. But the brakes, seats, and carbon wing screw all that. And that three setting center dif...did it change anything? Bah...I rather see Mitsu dig out of a hole then go deeper. Thats my 2 cents.
