I don't care so much about a sunroof, but I want leather for sure!

Leather yes, but cruise for sure. I still cant believe that the evos havent had cruise.

Cruise is a must but a sunroof is just another weight addition.

The EVO X is by far the best looking Mitsu since the 3000GT. I really like the direction they took with the new EVO. I'm definately getting one when it comes out. Its probably 6 to 9 months away from showing up at dealerships.

That right there tells me Mitsu F'd this one up. :p

If I look at it as a new car all by itself it's pretty cool, but I'm pretty worried they missed the mark as far as what's made the Evo a success in the past. The Evo VII-IX is 250-300lbs heavier then the Evo VI. The X is another 200lbs on top of that. My bet right now is that this car won't be as popular/successful in motorsports which IMO was the Evo's bread and butter, but I guess we'll have to wait for real numbers before getting to excited. Plus there's always hope the RS will be 200lbs lighter. :D

I could see the RS being a huge difference with the Evo X, if they drop all the automated stuff. Go back to the IX drivetrain and it should be a lot lighter. That could really get me interested. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Why do I keep thinking Cobalt SS?

It would be nice if Mitsu dumped the old 4G63 into a more affordable platform. Just some piece of shit with an AWD 4G63 (aka Eclipse). It doesn't need Super-Duper AWD System 5.0, race suspension and come ready to take to a rally. Hopefully they also figure out how to keep the new Evos from rusting instantly too.

Yeah, it needs cruise for sure.

As for the extra weight, I don't really care aslong as it handles better and is faster than the current EVO which it sure sounds like it will be. The 50% stiffer chassis is great too. How the car handles the weight is a whole lot more important to me than the actual weight.

I hate to say it... and I waited a while to see if it would grow on me, but I'm thinking I'm gonna buy a IX before they stop selling them, personally I can't stand the new design :( To each his own I guess, I'm glad people like them though, maybe Mitsu won't go out of business for a while yet, haha.

A little more info and more pictures. Alot of the pics are of the regular lancer though.

I wonder if it would look good with the plastic under the mitsu badge including the badge itself removed with a giant FMIC?

That part covers one of those safty thingys called a crash bar. Not that DSM'ers don't ditch it all the time anyways.
