question then, if i retard my cam gear a few degrees per FPs recommendation to help spool, will that hurt top end?

they are usually controlled somehow by oil, so they take a tiny amoutn of time to move

normally with adjuatable cam gears, you give up power in one area to gain power somewhere else, but with ecu controlled ones, you can run the best advance/reatrd vs rpm

ok yea now i understand

evo 9 cams look the same too, but the evo 9 has a cam gear on the intake cam that can advance/reatrd that cam based on ecu maps
