Yeah, I don't think the cliff hanger, "He was never heard from again." was all that great. Obviously the scammer didn't skip overseas just because he lost $500. That would cost him yet another $700 just get to get over here. The guy probably just got sick of the internet, or didn't pay his ISP bill or something.

Awww yea, the good'ol P-P-P-Powerbook gets'em every time! I hate those scammers man. I got repetitive offers for with a similar deal when I was trying to sell a set of old Altec speakers. They were 2' x 3' x 3.5' each with 15" woofers. I was not about to send them over-seas. I actually tried to coax the guy into sending me a check/money order (fake or not) but he kept sending me the same email over and over. This was back when this scam first started hitting the internet. Bastards! I ended up selling them locally.
