GSX Convertible?!?!
I was looking around and I found this cardomain page of someones saying they have a gs-t spyder with an all-wheel-drive conversion. Doesn't seem real to me but I thought I'd share it with you all :P..

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
Yes, it's been done numerous times before. I think there is quite a bit of info on RRE's website on a conversion they did. Tuners has a bunch of stuff on this subject too. Not worth the effort if you ask me. Sell the GS-T and get a GSX. Well that's exactly what I did.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
Oh I see. I wasn't planning to buy a new car any time soon I'm quite happy with my GS-T spyder I recently just bought. I had my fun with my old '90 talon tsi-awd :P. Just thought I'd post that up because I found that interesting that's all.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
mark at trkperformance had a auto convertible that he did a turbo swap on and converted to awd I believe. I heard it is a big PITA to do an awd swap but I have never done it myself.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
That is what I am hoping to get next. Either a Spyder with AWD conversion, or an EVO.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
Thats an item on my wish list. All I need to find is a doner car. From what I have read its not that hard. Everything bolts right in but the gas tank you need to drill 2 holes.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
Yes all turbo GS-T models come with the bolt holes to mount an AWD set up in them, you basically just need to buy everything for an AWD and then like posted above the GAS tank needs to have 2 holes drilled from what I've heard also.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
I used to work with some crazy Hmong guys. One had a AWD Spyder. I thought he was joking 'till I saw the diff. I think he said he bought it with the conversion done. He had put a Super 20G on it.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
Thats exactly why I want to do it. Everyone would be like its just a spyder. Until it launches and it spins all 4 tires. OOOHHHH The dreams!

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
there is a video of the first public conversion spyder about 3-4 years ago on the internet.
it races a frank lvl 4 turbo'd GSX
and totally whips the crap out of it.
there is a shop that use sell the whole package required for a gs-t/gsx conversion on the spyder and normal gs-t. It had some nasty labor times and alot of fun DSM part nudging instructions.

Re: GSX Convertible?!?!
That's pretty sweet. Forgive me for souding stupid, but what more would be involved if you wanted to put a 4g63 head on one of the GS Spyders and make it basically one of the 7-bolt 2.4L turbo motors like others have put into their 2g's?? Besides the manifold and turbo and the real obvious stuff, what all different sensors and wiring would be needed?
