You all realize he does have a normal life too right? He has a life like everyother person in the world. Why don't you guys do something to better the world? Or better yet, become president.

We don't have time for it. You need education to be president and money to become educated. There is no time left over to do anything else especially if you are driving a dsm.

Yeah just go ahead and skip college and mod yourself a DSM, it's a much wiser investment cause you can get a rep as a fast street racer and you can then be cool!
And very Broke.......
Then can you afford the gas, the tickets the insurance, accidents, motors, trannys, parts.....on & on....?

Re: Bush loves to do his part to help..........
Every relies on the federal government when it comes to shit like this. He did step forward a couple days too late when addressing the nation on what is going to happen, but I think most of that is FEMA's fault with not being prepared.
The blame game always goes to the top guy only because hes an easy target and half the nation is against him anyway... so its only going to happen. Silly democrats.

Using a tragedy as an opportunity for political one-up-manship is shamefull.

Yep, it's a dirty game, the problem is if you want to win it seems you just have to fight dirty like them, and in that process you then become one of them, corrupt!
It's hard to fight fair and win!

Re: Bush loves to do his part to help..........
I watched a show on the tragedy and they stated that those levies were built to withstand a hurricane of that category.
EDIT:
I ment that they were NOT built to withstand that kind of category. I wrote that wrong.

Re: Bush loves to do his part to help..........
well, they didn't, and in the paper this morning, bush said he accepst responsibility or whatever for the slow response.
and cudvig and pimpin dsmstyle are right, bush was on his 5 week vacation from the most important job in the world, so why should have have tried harder to convice people to evacuate. have sent out a mandate, signed a bill for relief, even before the 'cane happened. it wasn't his fault that he went to get a guitar after the hurricane hit, he had to chit chat with his "base".
it really wasn't his fault the place got tore-up but seriously, the response from the feds was poopy. he should have recognized.

The levees were built to withstand a category 3 storm versus the category 4 that Katrina was.

I think you need to look at what all President Bush did during "vacation." I read a good news story about what all he was doing but of course I can't find it again. I do know that he hosted at least 1 prominant world leader while "vacationing." Maybe they went fishing together....
Don't get me wrong though, I personally believe the now resigned FEMA director ought to be the next one before a firing squad led by Katrina victims. The response was awful on the federal level however the response on the local level wasn't that great either. This morning on the Today show they were talking about how the committee/whatever in New Orleans in charge of taking care of the levee system and related items is an absolute corrupt joke.

Re: Bush loves to do his part to help..........
seriously though, who takes a month vacation. 2 weeks maybe 3. and at least spread them out so it doesn't look like such a huge break.
I will tell you that if I were president, honestly now, i'd maybe take a couple weeks of vacation. and holidays would be optional. but that's just me, i have what you call "work ethic". he just seems to have some "vacation ethic".
