What tracks are close?
Well obviously I'm new to MN. Where in the hell are all the tracks? Anyone got any links to local tracks?

Re: What tracks are close?
How about looking at the stickies at the top of this forum? Those are the 3 tracks most go to. Brainerd is also a possibility, but pretty much just on Wed. nights as there are usually big events there on the weekends.

What's the track prep like on those three? NHRA? IHRA? Long lines? Nitrous refills? Scale?

Re: What tracks are close?
There is an 1/8th mile track at Grove Creek that used to be good for test and tune on Friday nights when it was $20. It was also a lot of fun to drive out there and beat up on the St. Clown guys! Now its $35, doesn't seem worth it as its not a 1/4 mile and its only open from 7PM-10:30PM.
Rock Falls track prep is shitty on import days, Brainerd track prep is shitty on Wednesday nights, and Cedar Falls seems to be pretty decent whenever anyone from here visits the track. Brainerd has the nicest facilities, then Rock Falls, and then Cedar Falls.
Cedar Falls is the cheapest to race at but its a 3+ hour drive where as Rock Falls and Brainerd are 1-2 hour drive.

Re: What tracks are close?
Yahoomaps says it's over three hours to Brainerd from Lakeville. That's not too bad if the track is a nice, well prepped track though. Are all these tracks located farther north or is Brainerd the northmost track?

Re: What tracks are close?
BIR is up north, Rock Falls is over in WI by Eau Claire and Tri-State and Cedar Falls are in Iowa. A quick google search will bring up their websites. There is also Interstate up by Fargo.

Re: What tracks are close?
Nope, got a clutch issue. The IA tracks seem to be the best for track prep. Insterstate is supposed to be decent too.

Re: What tracks are close?
Does the local performance car crowd go to the track or the street races more often? I guess I'm getting ahead of myself. Is there even a street scene?

Re: What tracks are close?
rule #1 we don't talk about stret scene
rule #2 we don't talk about rule #1
sorry kinda stupid but yeah.. i am not aware of any local street racing scene.. usualy it gets broken up before it even hapens. and its not worth it really. Cops waste too much time on easy stuff because its easier to catch racers than it is to catch killers and rapists so they just focus on racers, the real criminals the ones that don't have front license plates and tinted windows.. thats easy $250 for them compared to catching a reall crook which would have to go to jail and cost state money. So yeah, cops have their priorities right, catch racers... let criminals go!

Now if you'd get your ass another 2G so you can go back there and break your T25 times you would be in business!

Re: What tracks are close?
The prep at Rockfalls on Fun days isnt all that bad cause they actually have some decently fast cars there that weekend. I just seems as if they dont give a fuck about the traction we get in our "imports"! Thats why I usually go only on Fun Days now.
