GM quetion!

Who here knows anything about GM chevy monte carlo Z34? 3.4 dohc PITA. I need to know if anyone here has owned one and if anyone knows how to change the alternator!! It is ridiculous, I think I have the drop the entire passenger suspension to do this shit! I HATE SUSPENSION. I might be interested in paying someone, otherwise some verbal tips would be terrific!

Re: GM quetion!

*Edit*

His email is AaronZ34@msn.com

He is a damn good mechanic and knows the 3.4 all the way around 10x over. I have never done one personally...but I have heard from a few guys on w-body.com it is a BITCH, but not so bad if you know a few tricks. That is why I say find Aaron and ask him...

He is from my neck of the woods in Colorado...but I think he is in California right now. I am sure he can give you a step by step if you wanted to try to tackle it yourself. Give him a shout...he charges no fees for questions.

Re: GM quetion!

I don't think I've met you yet. Im josh and ppl love to bitch at me if you haven't noticed. I talked to Jet about the FMIC and I am trying to move as fast as possible.

On another note, I Emailed your friend. I hope he can give me some help because all of my friends are smart and drive imports. This was my first GM and it is not a great experience. Granted, the car has not broke, nor does it suck to drive. I just miss boost and the know-how of the car I own.

Re: GM quetion!

Hey Josh...I'm Kenny from Colorado.

Well the 3.4 DOHC motor has potential to put out some power in the N/A world...but it does not appeal to me. If it does not have a turbo I do not bother. I have had turbo pontiacs for the last 10 years and will always have at least one. Between my turbo v-6 3.1 in the Turbo Grand Prixs (only made in 1989 and 1990) or my 87 Sunbird GT Convertable (sold two years ago) that was running 12.1 in the 1/4 at 5860' above sea-level. They are fun and much less of a hassle if you get on top of the maintenance!

Anyway...if you have troubles getting ahold of Aaron let me know and I will track him down.

-Kenny
