Describe Your Dream Garage!

From the ground up how would you built it? What would be in it (not cars)?

I'd just want somethng for 3-4 cars, nice floor with a few drains. Insulated VERY well for the cold nights. A lift would be nice but just one. And a celing mounted hoist and a avaerage air comp would be nice. Other than that I'd be all good!

Re: Describe Your Dream Garage!

I have been planning mine out. I can't build it as big as I would really like to, but I am looking at about 32 x 28 with 14' ceilings (high enough for a lift). It will be a 3 stall, fully insulated garage. It is 6' deeper than normal so there will be plenty of room for work benches.

Most cities you can only have 1000' of garage space. Here is where I am going to get tricky. I am also building an addition onto my house at the same time with a 28x28 area right next to the garage. That is going to be my shop until I sell the house. I will use that for all of my shop equipment and working on customer's cars. Essentially I am going to end up with a 50x28 garage.

I would be happy with the one you described.

Ehhh, I guess my garage is okay. Not much to look at though.

My dream garage would be the same as everyone elses here; stinkin' huge, lift, ect. As for now I'll settle w/painting the floor, hang flourecent lights all over the place, building a bench across the back wall w/shelves above it. Finally get a dedicated welding space, outlets everywhere! and some heat.

Re: Describe Your Dream Garage!

The garage I have now is fine (size wise) but I need insulation and heat. It would also be nice to get rid of all the shit I seem to acquire.

Re: Describe Your Dream Garage!

If winters weren't so bad here the garages would be a lot cheaper easier to build.

Hell forget a garage, I think I'd take a shop like one of these instead: http://www.agriculture.com/ag/slides...&catref=ag6020

Move the other car out of the way and drop the porsche to the ground off the drive on hoist. It is not his garage...
