When does the 1G BOV start to leak?
I tired to search, and all I got was:
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : 1G, BOV
So how much boost can the stock unmodified 1G BOV hold untill it becomes leaky?

Buy a good one and not worry about it. IMO the only thing a DSM BOV is good for is a homemade/junkyard turbo kit.

I dont think i followed wut kept occuring on the same login name lol. As i was told, up to 20 MAX uncrushed and maybe 25ish crushed. You can pick up a nice BOV for 200 or less easily. If you can come up with that money, id advise that route.. prettier tooooo!

Re: When does the 1G BOV start to leak?
Why don't you just do a test and see? Rig up one of them boost leak testers, but put a vacuum nipple on it too, plug the BOV vacuum line into that nipple(which will simulate normal boost operation).Slowly pressurise it, watch the boost gauge, and see when it cracks open(probably by a noticable drop it PSI)

Re: When does the 1G BOV start to leak?
We found the limits of the stock BOV while on the dyno. The stock uncrushed would leak around 17 psi. The crushed was good for over 22 psi.

Re: When does the 1G BOV start to leak?
yep, gained 12whp just by swapping to a crushed BOV.
But the crushed one would'nt open fast enough compared to the uncrushed, so the pipes would blow off when I let off the gas.

Re: When does the 1G BOV start to leak?
My 1g bov leaked at idle. After I setup my GM MAF and MAFT in blow-through configuration, I vented the 1g blow off valve. It would suck air in at idle sometimes and it got really annoying. I bought it from a friend who purchased it brand new so it wasn't worn out, just doesn't like to be vented.
