I'm just getting a little ahead of myself here but... What are the pros/cons of having the wastegate on the o2 housing verses having it on the manifold?

umm you don't have to buy a spendy manifold if you use an 02 mounted one

but i think my vote goes to attaching an external WG to a 2g manifold with a few hours of port work into it. thats how all of buschers cars were set up at least at the shootout

The ideal spot is to have it located off of the collector, like the FP turbos. The O2 mounted ones are the next best. The problem with the ones mounted on the manifold is that they release more pressure from the #1 cylinder than the others because it is always located there. That will suck the exhaust out of the #1 cylinder more easily (no back pressure trying to spin the turbo). You don't want uneven amounts of air and fuel in different cylinders, it could cause one to run hotter than the others.

But you have to buy a spendy O2 housing ($400 from VP or $200 and $100 to modify).

Or buy one from me or QPR for less. They also have the benefit of flowing much better than a stock O2 housing.
