Hey guys.
I have recently knoticed while logging that my timing is not even advancing for crap. When I drive normal not spooling my timing is never above 10 degrees (which was way higher in the past) and never moves above that nomatter if I am boosting or not. At idle it is never about 3.5 (also use to be higher). I have tried to adjust my timing a few times and reseting the computer but that does not help the situation.

Has anyone ever had this problem before? Tomorrow I am going to try a different cas and maybe ecu to see if this solves my problem.

To add to the possibilities, i put in 2 gal of race gas in my car and does anyone know if this would cause the problem?

Thanks,
Jacek

Verify your base timing to is at 5 degrees BTDC for starters. If you're still not getting any timing, verify your cams are lining up with your crank, check your CAS and finally the ECU if everything else is good. Also what's your knock count when this is happening?

i have tried to set the base at 5-7 and after i unhook everything it will show 5 degrees and then if i rev then let it back to idle, the timing goes back down into the 3 degree range and just sits there.

my knock counts have been unusual. being at not even 10 degrees and having knock counts of over 20. im starting to think i have a crap tank of gas.

That much knock will pull your timing quite a bit, or atleast with my car it does.

welp, i figured that my mmcd program does not read the timing correctly. i rechecked it after i readjusted my timing. i left the timing light on and it showed this time everything good off of the light, but oddly the mmcd program isnt showing what the timing light is showing so piss on that from my point of view.

thanks for the help guys. :toast:

Always check timing with a light, free software programs have been known to be very wrong.
