dry cell battery options

Cheap ones!

My 1g has had an optima in it for a long time, but since i've stopped driving it the battery has pretty much died. It wont hold a charge AT ALL anymore.

I thought i remember awhile ago that someone was running a cheap lawn tractor battery or something in their dsm.

Anyone else have options they've used? It has to be a closed battery because in my car it is mounted inside the passenger compartment.

Re: dry cell battery options

I ran cheap fleet farm lawn mower batteries. They worked fine, but I was replacing them once a year typically. Wasn't really a big deal because they cost $20 back then. I was also had a subwoofer in the car as well. But I never left it on ACC mode for too long because I had no idea how long it would last.

I later switched to an Odyssey.

After using both, if I were to do it again I'd rock the lawn battery because they are so cheap, and no matter where you are you can usually find a replacement near-by.
