Beater 1g

I figured I would make a project thread for the talon. I bought it about 2 years ago and have put about 30 miles on it. When I bought the car it came with a 16g but turned out to be a 14b.

Mods when I bought the car

Ghetto fmic
3 inch turbo back
Evo fuel pump
Safc
Wideband

When driving the car home the turbo froze up. So bought a scm61 to replace the blown 14b. when installing the new turbo the oil pan was messed up. so I went to replace the oil pan I pullied the t case off and the output shaft came out with the t case. So replaced the tranny from one I got from trk permance and it didnt make it down my road. The bearings were toast in it. Found a rebuilt tranny put it in and drove it a couple miles on it and the motor started making noise. So I picked up a parts car and put the drivetrain feom that in to my car.

Right now the car runs and drives. But needs a tune and a couple minor things.

Mods now

scm61
850cc injectors
Safc
Wideband
New short route intercooler
Ghetto 3 intake
2g maf
Evo fuel pump
Xtd 4 puck unsprung clutch
Ebay 38mm wastegate

I plan on upgrading to a 255hp fuel pump and get a eprom ecu and have shane tune it.

Re: Beater 1g

Iam not worried about the clutch. I have ran lots of xtd clutches and never had a problem. And the way I will drive it tranny will be smoked in no time.

I use a stage 2 XTD Pressure plate and an ACT unsprung 6 puck disc and have been more than happy. 24psi on an e316g, pavement donuts and 2nd gear double clutches don't even phase it.

Re: Beater 1g

Only issue I had with my XTD was the rivets sheared off from the center hub to the outer hub.. The pressuer plate I'm still using and love it with my clutch net sprung 6 puck

Re: Beater 1g

Well I took the car out today after I installed some 680 injectors. Runs and drives great. Running about 24 psi of boost. A/f is stay around in the 11.5 range. Just need to find a e85 gas station near by and top off. Car pulls pretty hard for what it is. Looking to upgrade the fuel pump and head studs next. Mabe some cams if I can find some used ones. And put my fic 850cc injectors and turn the boost up more. Proably get a eprom ecu and have it tuned. Just glad I got this thing back on the road for once.

Nice! Running driving cars > 1 year projects. Guess I should have listened to my own advice LOL

Are 850's enough for the scm61?

Re: Beater 1g

Proably not if If I do cams and headstuds. If I want to max my set up out I will have to go bigger injectors. I bought 850s think they would be big enough for what I wanted.

Re: Beater 1g

Little update picked up a eprom ecu and a 255 lph fuel pump. I think the pump thats in the car is maxed cause it starts to lean out up top. This weekend I plan on putting the new pump in and swwing if that solves my problem.

Re: Beater 1g

Installed my walbro 255 pump today. Took the car out this morning and it rips all the way to redline. I plan on saving up some money and bring it to db and have shane tune it with the 850s.

Pretty sure I saw you on 35w tonight doing a pull. If so, your car looked like it pulled pretty hard.
