Carbon Fiber Evo w/ 4g61

Wanted to post this somewhere. This is a wicked build that would put pushit2.0 galant to shame. Or hopefully give inspiration for carbon fiber the rest of the car?

Evo body made of carbon fiber, rest is tube frame build up.
Running a 1.6L so that he can keep a light chassis. 2.0L class would make him have 400 more LB

It has been a long project that I thought was going to be abandon but now it is up and running!

Here is the thread from 4g61t.org

Built from the guys own garage!

Call me unimpressed. Great ideas, poor execution. That thing looks like total ass from the body down to the frame welds. Still a ton of work though, kudos for actually finishing it.

I agree it looks like hell but at least the owner is happy.

Re: Carbon Fiber Evo w/ 4g61

There's thread about this in the video section. I saw it on tuners, think it's cool in theory, and they made a good effort, but it still looks pretty shitty. I sure as hell wouldn't drive it, those welds scare me a bit.

Wow... I'm gonna be completely honest here. That thing looks like shit, and performs even worse. Less than 300 whp on a dynoguess? I'm thoroughly unimpressed.

I'm guessing it would be underweight for the 2.0 class causing him to have to add 400lbs of ballast to make weight.

saw the youtube video of the car. sounded like a beast and looked halfway decent. Now that I mentioned it, I think I saw the video of that car on here.

Pretty sure he didn't build it for looks. I give him props for all the fabrication needed to make a car like that. And to actually finish it.

That's a cam driven power steering pump too I think....

I think it's cool as shit. How many people think of doing all this in their heads but keep it as a dream? This guy went out and did it, regardless if he has the proper fab skills or not. That alone is worth a lot of respect in my opinion.

Re: Carbon Fiber Evo w/ 4g61

Thats why I posted it. To actually make all of the CF body pieces by hand. Yes, it should line up a little bit better and the wing is kind of ridiculous. I would love a CF hood on mine, I wouldn't know the first thing on how to make one.

Plus he did the Dry Oil sump which is something that just gets talked about and not done, plus that is a cam driven power steering pump.

BTW 350 hp out of a 1.6L is kind of a big deal. Only 14.5psi going through that also.

I think the top HP 1.6L is 446 hp

"446.7whp 323.7tq 1.21 correction factor
367whp 266tq uncorrected(6000ft)"
