wideband bung question.

I just bought a new Innovative DB wideband kit. I have a question about the sensor bung that I'm supposed to weld into the downpipe, It seems it is alot longer than it should be, like the sensor would not be even in the flow of the exhaust. is that how it should be?

Re: wideband bung question.

How long is it? Like a quarter inch? If so that's fine. If you're worried about it go to napa and they carry a nut about 2/16th's thick for o2 sensors.

This is a picture with the sensor screwed into the bung, the sensor doesnt even stick out past the bung, doesn't look like it would meter well like that.

Re: wideband bung question.

They make the extended ones for obd2 cars when you take out the cat. So the rear o2 doesn't set off the cel. But, why they sent it with your wideband. I have no clue..

Re: wideband bung question.

Just got to an exhaust shop or one of the vendors, I'm sure they have plenty of bungs that they can sell for fairly cheap.

Re: wideband bung question.

It may be there attempt at making the sensors last a little longer. You can cut that down or buy a shorter one. The ones I use are about 3/8" or so.
