Need a turbo rebuilt, where to go?
We need to have a 16g rebuilt, got a couple quotes from diesel shops, and they were pretty bad. $180, with a 3 week return, or like $400 for a next day. So is there anywhere that you guys go to that is relatively cheap and has a quick return?

Re: Need a turbo rebuilt, where to go?
You can rebuild it yourself and than have a shop balance it for around $50. I've rebuilt a few of my own turbo's and waiting to bring them in and get a couple balanced at once. If i remember, you'll need an 8m, 10m, 11 or 12, snap ring pliers and a small screwdriver along with the rebuild kit. You don't have to take the inner circlips out unless they are bad. I've gotta pick up a 18g wheel to finish my 18g turbo rebuild. Have a spare 16g wheel if you need one though.
VFAQ.com has a good write up on it if your willing to try yourself, otherwise a shop wont charge you more/less if it's already apart. Infact it may even be less.

Re: Need a turbo rebuilt, where to go?
Someone on here had a thread a few months ago about a diesel shop in Blaine that could do it. But it seemed like they were hit/miss on prices.

Try calling East Central Deisel in Cambridge if that isn't too far of a trip.

We can rebuild mitsu turbos, but I'm unsure on pricing. Give a call and ask for Bob if you're interested...

Re: Need a turbo rebuilt, where to go?
Yep, ended up working out a deal with jhaan_dude, and I ended up with a nice 16g myself! Was time to get rid of the Chinese 16g, according to Julian it was 5-6 pulls from blowing up..haha
Thanks for the help.
