After 3 long years of waiting/trying. And 3hrs of Sitting/Waiting/Talking/Driving back and forth to gather information.

We will be bringing home our New addition tonight.

Jenny and I are proud to announce that a

2004 Yamaha Blue R6 with Zero Miles is the new addition to the family.

Jenny is doing well, but has been a little more then excited lately.

She bought a few welcome to the family presents. A Shoe Helmet ($500) and Joe Rocket Gloves ($170) that compliment the Joe Rocket Jacket I bought her last year for her birthday.

I'll take some picts tonight when I go to pick it up and I'll post them tomarrow.

Side note: Jenny and I are looking to sign up for the Bike Training Class's here sortly so that we can get our License's. If anyone has any information about where/when the class's are being held please let me know.

congrats!!! you will like the R6 however you might not like the insurance.. when i was looking to get my bike, was going to get the R1 but the insurance was going to be like $4500/season... i then walked away from it mostly because i didn't want to waste money. because that is what it literarly is.. $4500 for maybe 6 months.. MAYBE ..

Good luck and drive safe.. watch out for morons.. i'd hate to have to come visit you guys in hospital..

Jenny and I are both talking the drivers training coarse that I believe the state puts on as well as I've been talking to some other people that race at BIR and what not and they said there are driving class's put on as well that are run by some pro drivers I guess that we are planning on attending.

And Honestly I was very suprised how low the monthly payments actually are. I was really considering buying the new GSXR 750 or the 40th Ann GSXR600. But the whole getting the car running kept coming to mind. Sad part is the bike payment is 1/2 of what I spend each month on repairs, cost less for me to insure then my car, and is faster.

The best part is we didn't have to sell the talon either to get it. But Jenny did offer to sell it if I wanted a Bike. But since I don't think my car will be running till about July we'd be S.O.L. during Rainy/windy days. with only haveing 1 running car.

Yes, and if you show the paper to the insurance that you successfully completed that class they will knock some money off from your insurance.

Sweet! Hopefully everything goes ok with the learning to ride. We'll have to go riding once I get my bike back on the road!

No shit, as most people who know me. I'm the woos of the family and she definetely wears the pants in the house hold.

I have about 5-6 years of riding Dirt Bikes and over the last 2-3 summers I've periodically driven a few of my friends bikes around the neighborhood. (I'm afraid of Main Roads)

As far as Jenny goes. Ya she'll probably progress a hell of a lot faster then I will.

For the past 3 summers she's been riding on the back of her friend's bikes and is already quite comfortable/familiar with doing Endo's, Wheelies, and going over 140mph on them.

Although she doesn't mind doing them on the back of an experienced Riders bike. She doesn't think she'll be ready to do anything like that on her own for at least a summer or two. She's said she just wants it to cruise around on and then as the skills improve she might try doing tricks and even said she might take it to Rock Falls to race or possibly a BIR event.. But those thing will be in the future she wants to focus on learning how to ride first.

As for me you all know if I got a bike it would be to cruise and or Rock Falls/BIR but something about falling over and slidding on my body just doesn't get me to excited to push the limits very far.

Congrats and Ditto....

And PLEASE Be Careful...

Used to ride, but wanted to still go fast and be safer for my family, so I got a DSM instead.....

Now I'm safer, and slower, and broker.......hmm.....

Aint that the truth. Hell getting a bike I would be saving a ton. Plus a bike would look nicer then my 2G. Damn I might be convincing myself into putting off the whole car thing for a while till cash flow get's better.

thats cool, just don't let it get stolen or you will be sad

but i don't think starting out on a brand new R6 is the best idea, because she WILL tip it over at some point and new fairings are rediculous amounts of dough. but i'm sure she'll have fun either way.

Gixxer - we keep continually getting that same response.

Most people tip over or crash at somepoint. It's going to happen but we are fully aware of that.

I took pictures of it being delivered and what not. As well as video taped first start up.

But the files are to big to post. (I found out how to make them smaller but haven't had a chance yet to change the files.
