SOLD - 91 TSI AWD 2.3 Stroker (Price drop and info added)

I’m putting my 1991 Eagle Talon TSI AWD up for sale. I’ve owned it for 3 years or 115,000 miles. The body currently has about 140,000 miles on it. The stroker engine has about 5,000. I’ve replaced, modified or otherwise improved upon nearly everything in the car over this time, but as these things go I will never be satisfied. I have at least 5 more years of school and just bought a house. Unfortunately I have decided I just don’t have the time to continue with this project. Currently runs and drives fine, but is in pretty desperate need of a tune. It has been garaged for most of the last year, but taken around the block regularly to make sure everything keeps moving. Just drove it 40 miles from my parents place to mine with no problems. I’d like to sell asap. Willing to negotiate if someone is fast with cash in hand. The longer it sits the more little things I will fix and the more firm my price will become. Asking $4,300 OBO.

Exterior 7/10 Fresh paint, but it's quality is OK. Some imperfections on the body. Looks pretty good from a few steps back.
Interior 8/10 Could use some pieces put back together just right, but no rips in seats or anything like that. Couple burns on carpet.

Mod/Maintenance list

Running DSMAP speed density setup (similar to AEM EMS) Eprom ECU with Ostrich Emulator

6 Bolt 2.3 liter stroker Engine (Eagle Rods, Wiseco pistons, 4G64 crank, Balance Shaft elimination, New Water pump, ARP Head studs, ARP main studs, ARP rod studs, Mitsubishi timing belt, Mitsubishi composite head gasket, etc… ~5k miles

Fresh Head (valve regrind, valve stem seals from LSE performance) ~200 Miles

Brand new transfer case (installed at Roseville Chrysler)

Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator with 12” and 10” slim fans

Ported 2G Exhaust Manifold.

Small 16G (mildly poted)

Lipp O2 housing

3” Exhaust with High flow cat.

KYB AGX Shocks

Eibach Pro-Kit springs

2GB GSX 17” Rims

Kumho Ecsta ASX tires 225/45/17

97 GSX Dual piston Calipers and Rotors

ABS Eliminated

LSD 3 Bolt rear

6-Puck XTD Clutch

Evo VIII Fuel pump (rewired)

Evo VIII 560cc injectors

AEM Uego Wideband

New Clutch Master and Slave cylinders

FMIC with 2.5 inch piping

Crushed 1G BOV

All Axles new within 3 years

QPR EGR block off

QPR Lower Throttle Body block off

Rusted portions removed, fresh paint applied

Converted to 1GB Talon rar end

AC Removed

JVC MP3, Infiniti Speakers and cheap amp and sub integrated into trunk

Canadian 90 amp alternator

90 external oil cooler (and 90 water pipe)

Replaced at least 1 tie rod end, one ball joint and one wheel bearing.

I’m sure I’ve forgotten a lot. I’ll add more as I remember…




Issues/Needed


Needs tune! (should wire wideband into ecu for this. Currently breaks up in higher RPM. Capable of a LOT more power)
Wideband display is messed up. (I believe it still reads fine so good for logging, but display is broken)
Fuel pump relay is bad (will probably replace in the next couple days, cheap part)
Needs Oil return gasket (drips some oil, cheap part, easy fix)
2 passenger side trim pieces off. One is ready to be put back on. The other needs paint (surprisingly unobvious when it’s off)
Tabs
A GOOD WASH!



Could use, but less important.


Clutch adjustment (the one on the pedal)
Cruise control adjustment (I’ll probably do this. 2 minute job)
Scrape on front bumper (Roseville Chrysler should do this for free as it’s their fault, but getting a dealership to do anything is tough)
Track down some Phantom Knock. (piston slap?)
Windshield has crack



I have a lot of parts including a long block and short block that are all negotiable in the sale. If I get my asking price the buyer is welcome to their pick of parts. If not they will be sold separately.


Possible trades: Newer BMW’s, Volvo 850 or S70 turbo, Saab 9-3 or 9-5, Firebird/Camaro (6-speed only), 97-99 Eclipse turbo (unmodified). May consider others. Possibility of some cash trading hands one way or another on top of the cars.

Lowered price. Stressing the best offer part. Would really like to sell this soon. Need to buy a new daily driver before selling my miata and I don't want to be doing that in the middle of winter...

Thanks Kracka.

I dropped it from $4,500. I did bold the OBO though. I am willing to negotiate some depending on if the buyer wants all the extra parts or not.

Shoot, I've never sold a car on here. Do I need to submit a VIN to mods?

If there is a problem with the car the BUYER should contact the seller and take it up with him. He (and only he) is also more than welcome to make a thread in the good/bad guy feedback thread.
