Battle Wounds - Not for the Squeemish!
Ok so everyone has had their fair share of battle wounds. I had a good one yesterday and anna insisted on taking pics of it for some reason? Anyways, I was helping my parents out with the remodel of their house and wiring some new power outlets and what not over the weekend. I removed a TON of old splintery paneling and trim, filled with rusty nails with no gloves (because I'm stupid) with no problems. I wired some new outlets for them, no problemo.
Then came some new phone jacks. I did not have the correct punch-down tool with me so I decided to just improvise and use a screwdriver. A nice, small-ish to medium flathead screwdriver with a narrow head on it. I punched down several pieces of wire with no problem, and about the 10th one I did I just held the plug in my hand and started pushing down with the screwdriver....really hard. Needless to say, it slipped off of the connection and then about 1" into the palm of my hand. I felt electrical shock and that continued for about 10-15 minutes afterwards, just pulsating pain. Easily one of the worst amounts of pain I've felt, and I've had plenty of wounds (for a computer geek).
Hardly any blood, just a lot of pain. The screwdriver went in at an angle, from where it went in down to where the thumb meets the forefinger (the bones inside). I got a tetnis shot today just in case, and the doc says it should be fine (my finger was going numb so I wanted to see what they thought).
Anyways, anyone else have any decent battle wounds? Post them up!

Oh, that's going to hurt for a while. Puncture wounds always seem to bruise the area around it so it hurts for a long time.

With the shot, you should be ok. It'll heal up. But I bet that's probably fairly close to a light gunshot wound - deep wound, lots of pain, tell people you were reloading durring a gunfight downtown and it went off in your hand.
and no stitches?

No stitches, I forgot to ask the doctor, but the cut is *so* clean it stays shut all on its own, as long as I don't move it too much.

Dude, they didn't put the invisible stitches on it? The stuff is super glue and works awesome. I put it on pretty much any cut now. Healing time is dramatically reduced and you only get a small area of skin that dies. No, I am not joking, it works great!

I got one of those in almost the same spot on my left hand too! I was using a small straight screwdriver with a blade about a 1/4" wide to pry something while I was working on a car. It slipped, and went into my hand about 3/8". Not much blood, but it was sore as hell for a couple days.

I was thinking the same thing, only was thinking it happened from to much use of the hand, and he's making up this story to cover up so anna doesn't find out.
hahah
