Re: Got any ideas on this one??
I caught a dormmate stealing money from me.
Back in college i used to buy alcohol for all of the guys in the dorm because i had a fake id. So i had just finished making a run and was counting the money i had made. I noticed i had 3 - 5 dollar bills all in consecutive numeric order in crisp condition. So i left the money on the table in my own room because my roomate and our "friend" were there and i trusted they wouldnt take it. i went down to my car and grabbed some beer and brought it up, speakeasy style. and sat down and looked at my money again, the 3 5s were gone.
So i called my roomate into the room with another friend of ours and asked him if he had taken it. He replies with "No man, i wouldnt do that, i left to go to the bathroom and left our other friend in here alone and he was gone after i came back" So my other friend said well lets go into his room where the rest of our buddies were hanging out and just say, "Hey guys, im missing some money from tonights run can everyone just empty their pockets, i know exactly what the money looks like" So we did just that. My buddy that suggested it was standing right by the guy that we knew took it, and everyone emptied their pockets and this guy drops the money next to his chair and tells everyone he doesnt have any money in his pockets. My buddy goes "What the fuck is next to your chair, heres the money right here." So i just flipped out on him and no one talked to the guy for the rest of the school year. And it turned out that he was also stealing checks from his roomate (and friend from high school) and making them out to cash.
I would say the best bet is to confront him asap. before he is able to stash it somewhere.
